Sooo, anyone watch this series? The first episode aired 3 days ago, and it aired again today. For the first time ever here.

It was.... very interesting, to say the least. Awesome, even. It's been a long while since I liked a sci-fi series (most of them are crap), but this didn't seem to be.

Now I'm looking forward to 1am tommorow night. :E

Are you kidding?

It came out over here in 2002 I believe...
Pretty much everyone on this forum loved the show.

I still can't get over its cancellation, they didn't even do a full season. :(

Firefly rules beyond belief, Fox sucks, the movie is great, I love Joss Whedon almost as much as I love Nathan Fillion. Thankyou.

Firefly is my favorite TV series of all time, period.

I just finished watching an episode actually, I watch a couple every week, cycling through them.

I almost made a thread the other day about it but there have already been so many.

I love Firefly, very much.

I don't do this very often, but; QFT.

I hope they revisit the series some day.

Forget the movie ever happened, and continue where the last episode left off.

They have to, for the sake of my sanity. Every time I watch it I get both depressed and angry that there's only one season. It's such a great show, the characters are wonderful, the universe is great, etc etc.

Everything about it I thought was brilliant, the overall feel, the art direction, the CGI, the scripts, the acting (oh god the acting! Nathan Fillion has been in my dreams many times!), everything!

Nathan Fillion is the man. Mal is right there with Han Solo and Indiana Jones as one of my favorite characters ever.

See, now I'm really sad and pissed off about Firefly being cancelled again. I think I need to find FOX's email address. "Hey, your news is bullshit, thought you should know, but anyway, bring back Firefly you chicken****ers"

Nathan's a great actor in general too.

Have you guys watched Slither? He's hilarious in it.

He's fantastic in Slither.
"Oh my easy-going nature is getin' sorta seriously f**kin' tested."

<3 Firefly. Just got my DVD back off a friend who borrowed it from me for a few months. Going through the series again.

I think they should do the comics back in TV form, then continue like nothing else happened.

- Added a poll to the thread, I figured 13537 wouldn't mind

Also, gorramit, this thread has made me want to go watch more Firefly. I'm going to watch the whole damn series at once one of these days, just sit down in the morning and watch it all the way until night, and then watch Serenity after that.

I seen the first episode it look intrusting… Those guys they were fighting look like Germans, who were they? Some kind of Empire?

Any ways isn’t Serenity the Movie of Firefly?

That's the alliance between the remnants of the american and chinese governments. They want unity (re: Control over every single human in the world) and peace (just so long as everyone do what they tell them to do).

When you say the first episode, do you mean the two-hour pilot (called Serenity, but not the same as the movie) or the first aired episode, The Train Job? The guys they're fighting are the Alliance, which is, like Rimmer said, a treaty between the remnants of the United States and China, that controls most of the "'verse".

And they're the wet blanket that covers most of the civilized world.

I got Mal, but I may or may not have been a little biased in my answers :p

I love it, but I don't think it's the BEST series....there is always going to be better.

Heathen. Though I suppose Firefly's got something of a target audience.

This is kind of fun, for other people who are crazy about it, one of those worthless quizzes:

Hahahaha

"Have you ever had government funded experiments done on you? "

Gee. I think so, something called "Public Education". :p

I got both Alliance and Malcolm Reynolds 90%.

Hmm.... only 9 hours remaining till the next episode. :E

EDIT: *reads thread*

Got cancelled?

What? The ****? I hate fox now. **** you fox.

One Question: How come the crew speak chinese?

One Question: How come the crew speak chinese?
Because the two surviving nations after everyone escaped the world were the Americans and the Chinese. The two cultures clash together, and so people in the 'verse' often interchange between Chinese and English.

Ah, thank you. :)

Er, wait, so the guy who made this series also published the history?

No, but it's not that hard to get after you watch the entire series six or seven times. :P
Also you can see it the set design, a lot of chinese elements everywhere. For example the Alliance flag is the american flag and the chinese flag put together.

In the process of watching it now, like it.

Firefly is one of the best shows I've seen. Mainly because it's funny and the character interaction is quality stuff. I've liked a lot of Joss Whedon's shows too.

I was watching The Train Job the other day for like the 5th time and I only just realised that the uniforms/armour that the Alliance soldiers wear is the same gear used in Starship Troopers.

I thought that was quite cool.

Yes, Firefly rocks.

Yeah, all of the armor for the Alliance troops is left over from Starship Troopers :D

Lovely show. I am reminded how much I want to buy the DVD.

Curses, I'm that Doctor Simon fellow. Runner up: Wash!?

I'd vote Prison Break up there with Firefly, imho. Lost, not so much, too bloody random for me. Firefly is awesome for it's acting, and story, and Prison Break is awesome for the fact that they can keep you on your seat from Prison, right on out in the world. They are both fantastic shows in their own right.

I'm not into Prison Break (not that it sucks, I just don't watch), but I list both Lost and Firefly as some of my favorite shows. While they're both very character-centric I watch them mostly for very different reasons.
