He is right, it drips with hate. There may be a lot of facts but that does not mean that they cannot be presented in a biased way, he just shows some of the facts, neglects to show others. And half of those myths are not myth's at all, he just makes up some supposed bullshit that not even the biggest FF fanboy would claim and then disproves it. It's like me saying that nintendo fanboy's say the cube is more powerfull than the 360 and then go on to disporve it, to make N supporters seem like idiots.

Take for example the security issues, now one ever claimed FF was 100%, yet he say's people say that and then lists all the vulnerability's.
Yet if we compare IE to FF, what do we see?
http://secunia.com/product/11/
http://secunia.com/product/4227/
he is right that opera is the securest:
http://secunia.com/product/4932/

Now I'm not sure weather or not Opera is better, cause I have not tried it yet. But I do know that firefox is extremly friendly, it provides very easy acces to extension, theme's and plugins, with a little hack it can browse extemley fast, has great functionality, is Open source, the only negatives I can find with it, are the slow start and the fact is uses java which is a recourse hog.

And a simply 30 second googling turned this out:

http://nanobox.chipx86.com/blog/2005/12/re-firefox-myths.php

I simply put in "firefox myths site debunked"

Now Stern, the problem with you is that you believe to much BS, FF is good but it has it's share of problems, maybe more for you then others. Simply use IE, it's a good browser, I do not know why people hate it, I mean I like FF more but IE is certainly good and in some instances even better, same with Opera and Netscape. Don't have unrealistic expectations from FF just because of all the BS.
A 30 second search and you would know that even one of his sources is debunking him.

lol you spent a lot of time preparing your post and I didn't read it. I only do this because I am sure it enrages you more than any arguement I could have posted. LOL

Well I just quoted my old response from stern't thread.
As for the rest, why? I mean aren't just trying to troll or make me flame, that only degenerates this forum, it's not really worth the laughs.
www.flamehaus.com is a very nice forum to let it all go without worries from serious repercussions.

Failure.
I thought IE7 had tabs?
What IE doesn't have is mouse gestures, adblock, session saver, etc

And the majority of those myths aren't real myths
They're just things he made up to disprove

Most ppl that use FF know all of the stuff thats on that page already too

My friend has mouse gestures on his firefox, is it a plugin?

Exactly. IE loses in every conceivable way.

Yes Jangle, MouseGestures is a plugin you can get. I have it and it is one of the best. You right click then move forwards or back to go back and forth from webpages and such, really awesome.

There are very few legitimate myths debunked in that. Most of it is straw-man bullcrap, like that myth about Firefox having lower system requirements. I don't know about you, but I never thought such a thing, nor was I ever told it.

He's pretty much making up crap out of thin air to disprove, even though nobody was ever touting such things in the first place. Not that it matters to me, though. I'll use Firefox any way since I've always had far fewer problems with it than IE.

I've used so far IE, FF, Opera, and I still don't see why you like them so much. I'll use IE thank you very much:p . BTW I tabs are ahem, useless.

How many extensions did you install? How many tweeks did you make?
The bare bones FF isn't that much better than IE
It's what you can do with it that makes it so much better

IE supports add ins.

Whoever said IE has no tabs is retarded.

I'd reconsider using IE if it had session saver, adblock, and mouse gestures
I can't really browse the web w/o those anymore :/

Yeah I'd consider it if it had tabbed browsing myself, but the internet would suck without it.

hahahah, fuk, if I remember correctly the term for that is trolling.

The firewall I use takes care of those pesky adds. Mouse gestures are an interesting feature, but I don't see it absolutely necessary, same goes for tabs. I wouldn't use session saver even if it was available in IE.

I know you can use the firewall to block ad servers, but can you use it to block specific files only? Like if you wanted to see everything else on hl2.net but my avatar, could you?

And ya, mouse gestures and tabs arent necessary
But once you've got FF and are used to them, they're amazing :p

Most people introduced to tab browsing find it preposterous to go back to normal browsing.

Everybody else is retarded.

Yeah, tabbed browsing changed my life.

I don't know about you guys, but I browse this forum by scanning the list of threads, and middle clicking on each one that interests me. Then I flip through each of the tabs to read the threads.

It's beautiful, really.

By the way, I believe IE 7 (or whatever the Vista one is) will have tabs and several other *cough* innovative *cough* features.

I've tried going back to IE- I hated it. It was clumsy, unweildy, and stupid. Much like the points Rakurai has made thus far :|

most of those points barely concern me

QFT.

IE7 might have tabs and plugins, but at the moment it simply doesn't do what I want because, AFAIK, there aren't equivalents of the extensions that I use in FF - Session Manager, DownTheAll (essential for pr0n surfing ;) ), FoxyTunes (control music player in browser). Simple as that. Also, is IE7 themeable? I'd expect not.

I never knew that, I just used it easly separate the porn from the homework.
Thnx

/me clicks IE

Hey, no tabs. I'll have to install something or other.

/me clicks Firefox

Holy shit, tabs out of the box!

I didn't like tabs when I first used FF either. It sucked not being able to alt-tab

But then I set up FF so everything opened in tabs so I never had to deal with second windows. And setup gestures to easily open, close and switch between tabs. It was a lot nicer than alt-tab, alt-n, and alt-f4 ing
