I hate firefox, what a crappy buggy piece of shit ...half the time it wont let me slect text, the other half it wont let me copy, it crashes at least once a week, is slow and completely unresponsive at least once a day

god give me Safari over this anyday ..it's better than IE but sheesh iron out the ****ing problems already ...do I really need 4 browsers installed just so I can surf the net

sounds a bit like my woes a topic down :)
sucks that the best is still pretty poor

No such problems here.
Maybe it's a problem with some extentions you have? Or are you running a beta version?

Hmm...my Firefox has never had any problems. Perhaps your comp has its share of spyware/what have you. You might wanna un install firefox, scan for any viruses/spyware you can and reinstal firefox.

Political news search overload! D:

I found I had these problems when I ran adblock, but since you've already mentioned that it's vanilla then that rules anything of such a nature out.

Only sensible suggestion I can offer is perhaps just removing it completely, doing a quick virus/spy/adware scan and wipe, then download and install the latest version.

Good luck.

I check spyware weekly with spybot and adaware ..same thing happens with firefox on my home pc

maybe it's the latest update

Firefox raped my laptop and left it for dead.

The only problem I've had with FF in the past (asside for the rare random crash) was a couple versions ago, sometimes my Search function (Crtl + F) wouldent search the text on the page. But that has since been fixed it seams.

Cpt, you fully uninstall it?
And are you running Windows or Linux?

I havent uninstalled it yet ..I'll do it when I get a chance

firefox wont restart after crashing atm
yeah when that happens it is actually still running
you have to kill it first in the Task Manager before restarting it

i discovered after an ff crashing escapade, (and it was still in taskmanager running) under the profile with all my favs still in use so i thought i lost my bookmakrs and everything. but with a bit o google. i found a command whihc ran the ff profile manager when i started firefox. after closing it off in taskmanager and i got al my bookmarks back.

might be an idea to try that shippi

this has happened to me as well dozens of times over the last few weeks ..when I try using my first identity (right after starting up firefox) it says it's in use

it also wont let me install flash, shockwave

I've never had any problems with Firefox. How can a web browser crash a laptop, how old was it?

Pretty much what I was gonna say. Before 1.5.0.1, the only issue I had with Firefox was that it was a bit slow to start up, but this version (actually it's the previous version, 'cos it auto-updated to 1.5.0.2 last night) had been a frickin' nightmare - crashes, memory hogging, resisting ending-process in Task Manager.
I guess the problem with FF is an analogue of Windows PCs to Macs - the more flexible something is (i.e. extensions), and the more third parties get their fingers in, the more likely it is to **** up.

Damn, sucks to be you guys...
1.5.0.1 and .2 both work just fine for me.

With what extensions?

BTW most crashes seem to happen when I have Gmail loading in a tab.

My firefox runs flawlessly.

Maybe you should stop visiting rando pron sites.

I'm using 1.0.7.

HAHAHAH maybe you should stfu if you haven't got anything helpful to contribute.

Been visiting random porn sits since '98, can't kick the habit :(

firefox 1.5.0.2 seems a bit better at least so far.

Firefox has always been working great for me. Must be something on your end.

FF > All Never crashes. Very fast! Super in every way. I think your just a noob :P

Wow, some people really have problems with Firefox. It has probably crashed five times total on this computer and I've used it over a year now. Personally I preffer Firefox above all.

I always suffered from that problem too :( As well as the can't-copy bug, but that was in an earlier version.

Pot to kettle: "You are black."

heh - I've had Firefox crash more than Internet Explorer, but I do watch where I drive. Opera, however, hasn't crashed nor has it given me trouble.

If you had kept it useful in the first place, we wouldn't be having this particular exchange.

I stated my version of Firefox along with my observation of it's reliability.

What is not useful in that?

don't know what your problem is stern, mine works great D:

The slowness of FF's startup makes me want to put my head through the screen. Go get Opera, Stern, it's has everything that's good about Firefox and more. Every now and then a site wont like it though, so I have to keep another browser on hand.No biggie.
