And I'm just going to avoid sites that shove all that crap on your computer. Everyone wins, especially me.

Which dosent change the fact that it's still vulnerable to it...

Nice way to just brush it off though.

I have used FireFox for a while and I love the tabbed browsing. I had some problems with it such as the lack of a full google toolbar (I since found one) and the fact that it opens .mp3 files in Quicktime (i'll get round to changing it soon).

But the great thing about it (main reason I downloaded it) is the customizability.

I started using Firefox and don't want to go back to IE. I like the tab idea and that it blocks pop-ups. Sometimes another program starts IE and I instantly get some pop-ups and shit and I have to check whether there are any suspicious processes in the background, And now I installed thios mouse gestures extension and it's pure coolness

Tabbed browsing is uber-handy for forums. I used opera once on a university computer, it seemed a little cluttered.

cluttered? how so? if anything the tabbed browsing in opera is far simpler than firefox, especially since it automatically opens every link in a new tab

Holy crap! Four pages!? I was certain this thread would just sink into the second page (of threads) after my last post. Anyhow, I'll try out Firefox and those extensions.

But explain to me those tabs. Do you mean it can have multiple sites on tabs in one window? And there isn't some sort of installation process, is there? I had to create a thread on here asking how to reduce an image to 50 x 50 pixels for God's sake. If that weren't pathetic enough, I figured that out, then wasn't sure how to save it, so the avatar option completely rejects it and this isn't going anywhere at all, I'll get back with the results of Firefox after I'm sure with everything.

Actually, what's the button to instantly switch tabs in FF? I don't use the tab function because i don't know the button.

I like FF mainly because it doesn't automatically switch my homepage to a different site every 3 clicks. *shakes fist at evil websites of DOOM*

If you click on a link with the wheel button it will open it in a tab. Fastest way to view the Halflife2.net forum. ;)

Not all IE users are losers (i.e. me, and the AWESOME company I work for), and it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I really can't wait for IE7 to be fully released, with its Anti-Phish technology that'll prompt people when the site is fraudulent. Considering 99% of uneducated web users are using the default that they're provided (Internet Explorer), it'll be good if Microsoft fill in for their lack of common sense and stop them getting frauded. And IE7 has tabs, too :P

Yeah, IE7 sounds really nice. Glad MS got motivated to update their browser. Only thing I'm worried about still is ActiveX being a nice way to exploit the browser.

My Internet Explorer (6, I think) always comes up with a little warning at the top of the page stating "IE has blocked an ActiveX component. Click here to activate it". I'm not sure if I messed around with the security settings or what, but it blocks them for me, unless I tell it otherwise.
