But with your current signature and avatar, I can't take you seriusly. Look in the race thread for pictures of my home: :)

Looks pretty! I just hate being cold :(

Snow rocks...and so does winter.

They both rock even more when you have a 110 degree hottub outside

moppe, you live by Torne Träsk? I've been there! It's beautiful.

Winter sucks, you generally feel much happier in summer. You get ill in the winter too, I didnt get ill once in the summer but now its getting cold I already have a cold :O

Agreed, I live on a sluttning (swedish) of one of the mountains, I have perfect view over the village, Lapp-porten and Abisko.
You saw the pics in the other thread? :)

Yeah, those should drag some tourists over there, I was in Abisko in the summer, so there was a lack of nordic light, but it doesn't matter, I've seen it before. :E

If you're here in the summer, Laponia is a must.
Wonder if nordic light is more frequent in the winter, it seems like it to me?

i heard swedish women sometimes dont feel like wearing tops... but thats what i heard.... damn thats weird

One thing I'm not looking forward to is when the pavement freezes over and it takes me 45 minutes to get up the hill to uni...

Its frigging freezing here in Manchester.

 Its been about 14 degrees C hasn't it?

I wouldn't say freezing, I'd say it was refreshing. Cold enough to keep you alert at least...Then again, where i used to live we got quite a lot of snow. I also rather enjoy snowboarding, and so I guess I'm just that kind of person.

I would love for it to snow more this year...

No offense, but it's fun to see people just like you traveling up here, to see the snow. And when they come, with a standard jacket that they bought in their homecountry that the salesman said would be more the enough. :D

YES! Always wear googles with UV-protection. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS! Googles are more important during a blizzard to, cause snow in your eye hurts.

The snow will reflect all extra UV-radiation, and if you don't have protection for it you will get snow-blind. I've been snowblind, and it feels like someone poured salt in your eye, don't even try to see anything in light, cause it'll just be white.

Anyone in currently in Sweden that are willing to tell the weather? I can't reach my friends on sat.

No snow here yet (Östergötland), damn cold though.
This is the worst part of the autumn, the damn cold in the mornings. It's really hard to get out of bed :(

We had -7 tonight, -4 in the morning.

Not hitting the -'ses yet, but getting there. There's frost at least :)

10 weeks ago I was on the beach in greece, seems like yesterday, now it's cold again... :(

All you lucky people with snow. We've just come out of winter here in sydney.

Clear blue skies, slight breeze, 18-25C days.

Now we're headed for summer:

Clear blue skies, slight breeze, 35-40C days.

Not a hell of a lot of variation there, except for the temp.

Sounds boring.
Alot of variation in Lappland due to the sub-artic climate.
Summer: clear blue skies, slight breeze, 20-25 day and night. 24 hour sun.

Winter: alot of clouds, blizzards, wind depends, -20-55C day and night. 24 hour night.

lol snowing already? but the messed up thing is in Alberta they had a snowstorm in september! like wWTF, lol luckily we haven't had snow yet... and its 19°C out.... which is wiered since I live in Canada... lol

hehe, your summer is our winter.

We get the occasional rain, and the occasional summer thunderstorm.

But (noticed especially after travelling overseas) the sun is shining almost all the time.

Well, so do we. But that is always over the mountains, it don't get down in the valley.

Where South? Skåne, or further up?

And yeah, you've got to visit Norrland sometime Farrow. During hunting season perhaps? ;)

Oh, first Skåne.
Sweden is such a small country, but the language is so diffrent from south to north. :)

Nu ska jag försöka skriva norrländska. :)
Fast, de ä rätt svårt å göa de.

Both Norrländska and Skånska is considered farmers language.

It's getting very cold here, I have a feeling the snow will be coming early :)
