I'm starting a new mod. It's a horror story, but it is not a story of simple mindless zombies (not that there's a problem with that) and a more character based story (of course, there will be zombies all the same ). I hope to have a site up soon (I have a host and webmaster, I just need to get it up). I do have a Forum though http://hmmmrecords.com/forum/
Here's a brief plot overview (wrote it in about 10 min., not that good, but you get the general idea):
Flint's Bay. It's a small, quiet town on the coast. Flanked by beautiful green forests, and overlooking the open seas. It is said to by some to be most beautifal town in the whole Northwest. The salty air and ocean mist come in at night, creating an eery beauty, one that must be seen to believe.
The town was originally established by French fur traders, so it's roots are old. It has a long history, going back generations. It is primarily a fishing town and is a very friendly community.
However, ancient legends also say that it is cursed. The elderly often tell of something evil out in that bay. Every year, people will go out to sea and disapear, never to be found again. Something that lures them out, whispers to them, calls to them. Many have been lost to Davy Jone's locker. There are many ghost stories in this place, tales of a crazed old Doctor who lived in the woods, who conducted twisted experiments, to test the boundaries of life and death, and perhaps unlocking the secret of imortality itself. And then there is the Flint mansion. The house of Marcus Flint, son of Thomas Flint, founder of Flint's Bay. Legends tell that Flint and his family was communicating with some sort of great evil, studying the dark arts. One day, the caretaker found all of them dead, aparrently a mass suicide. They were taken from the town and buried back in Boston where the rest of the family lived. At least, the bodies were moved, some say that they remain in the house, continuing their dark plans. But those are just stories...
In recent years, Flint's Bay has become a flocking ground for tourists. Especially on Halloween, when they hold the "Freak Festival", a Halloween carnival on the Pier. It has everything you want, fake blood, maniacal looking clowns, a haunted house, vampires, a ferris wheel, and late at night, plenty of booze and "adult" entertainment for anyone with fake ID or friends in the staff.
While all the partying is going on in town, some like to come down, rent a beach house, or go camping. There's plenty of good fishing, some ok surfing waves, good scuba diving, and a beautiful view.
As we speak, the festivities are starting up. However, there is something else happening on this foggy Halloween night...
