The meaning of accountability and why Valve doesn't get it.
Con:
1. Over a year late.
2. Huge amounts of content that was shown in videos and promised by Valve is missing from the game.
3. Much of the AI slated to be in the game is missing, and it turns out the awesome BINK videos Valve made were actually a farce, most of them were scripted and not an accurate representation of what the game reallly is.
4. Fatal memory errors, horrible loading times, massive amounts of audio stuttering that makes the game unplayable for many customers.
5. Requirement to authenticate the game through Steam, and requirement to use Steam to play the game, even though Steam directly hurts game performance.
6. Failure to apologize for any of the massive amount of shortcomings in game content,bugs/errors, release dates, patches, inaccurate documentation, problems with having Steam authenticate the game, etc. etc. etc.
To summarize: Valve, please stop lying to your customers and deliver the game as promised.
1. Think Duke Nukem Forever ! For the last time, it happens with EVERY GAME ! IT IS NOT A CRIME TO RELEASE A GAME LATER THEN ANNOUNCED !
2. Was it ever promised by Valve ? If they took it out they had the right and it was for the best purpose of the game. Think about it !
3. Juste because AI doesn't open a door by force doesn't mean AI is missing. Yeah, some of it was scripted for marketing purpose. once again EVERYONE DOES THAT ! EVEN MOVIES !
4. Sometime it'S a good thing to check the requirements of a game. And yes, once again, it happens in A LOT OF GAME ! BUGS ARE A COMMON THING IN THE GAMING WORLD !!!
5. YOU CAN PLAY OFFLINE !
And if you could see the money you do going in your pocket instead of someone else you would think about it too ! And if you we're a real fan, you probably pre-loaded itonyour computer, and u we're really happy of getting it at midnite and don'T have to get to the game shop.
6. For one last time, BUGS ARE COMMON IN EVERY GAMES !
And to all of you still bitching Valve ! It's not because Valve takes lots of time to deal with you and being the Nicest producer around that they deserve more complaining than the others.
Valve, as aby other game makers, have all the rights to what they do. I was flabbergasted to see someone saying : Valve lied ! They said the blue gravity gun wasn'T going to be in the game and now it is ! ! Like 50% of the ppl here said it would be awesome to have it in game. I think it was a great gift from Valve to change their mind and put it in game !
So please, Valve has a lot more to offer still. Bugs are common and we have to deal with it in every game. Do you go at Nvidia and ATI complain everytime something isn't perfect ? (if yes please go away...) If you are too young to have a job yet, you'll life is all like that ! there is always problem to be solved, ppl complaining stupidly and way-too-short deadline to meet !
