Is it me or everyone? The News, feedback sections are no longer at the top. Everything is rearranged. I almost can't find the lounge.

Munro did it. Blame him!

Offtopic should be at the top, seeing as most of us go straight to it and and spend most of our time here.

That would totally make sense. Let's put the forum with the most spam where we want EVERYONE to see.

Now this sucks.

I'm confused. I can'f find the news section.

Well, I for one, hate this new arrangement. :arms: I suppose I'm too reactionary to allow change.

...

All hail munro?

Wait, wut D:

Oh yeah, seems pretty cool to me, if you just use your eyes and actually read what the page link says you might not go walking off into the Community Section. Only maybe.

The only change I don't agree on is why the editing forum is beneath the off-topic forum. Makes no sense. Should come after either Multiplayer Games or Valve Software.

How does that even make sense, like they can't scroll down, like everyone doesn't spend most of the time in off topic anyway.

Time for revolution.

This is Halflife2.net, not Lounge.net. The forums that are relevant to the site should be put first, then others follow. Munro should think about the user that doesn't frequent the forums. If they were to come here to find answers about an issue, is it a good idea to have them wade through The Lounge and such until the forum that is being sought after is found?

They wouldn't need to wade trough just scroll down a bit, hardly an obstacle for someone new.
Regardless I don't think it's right to cater to people that only visit the site once in a while, assuming they
are incompetent enough not to scroll down, instead of people that visit a couple of times per day.
Besides off topic forms the heart and soul of this site, without it the forum would be empty, I like to not
have to scroll down past forums which are hardly ever, ever used, to get to offtopic.

In any case a solution might be to let people choose in the option menu which section group should be put where
or to make off topic only visible to registered members.

New people generally come to the forums to talk about the half-life games, so it makes sense that the half-life section is on top and is the first thing they see.

Weather or not off topic is at the top hardly matters to finding the right section as anyone with the
competence to post at hl2.net will scroll down. And as such it has very little relevance for those that just
joined to talk about hl2. I see the order of the forum as mostly a matter of convenience hence I would
like the most visited section to be the first I see.

It's the same for you. If The Lounge was back at the bottom, all that would be needed to do is hit "End" and you're there. No scrolling necessary. Why would we be without off topic? The only reason people would stop coming would be because they don't want to scroll to it. Imo, if you're that lazy, then just get someone else to operate your mouse.

It's clearly not the same for me as I explicitly explained if only you would read. I come here multiple
times per day, hence the inconvenience is greater and more noticeable for me then for someone that just
comes here once or twice.

And I don't totally understand the second half of your post. Are you literally saying " why would we be
without off topic" or did you mean " this site would still be as active without off topic". I really don't know
what to say if it's the former as i don't see how it relates to my post, if it's the latter, then the fact that
offtopic is 10x more active then the other sections should be evidence of it's importance to the forum.

Anyway i didn't actually know you could use the "end" button, thnx for that.

I said that because you said "off topic forms the heart and soul of this site, without it the forum would be empty." I was asking why would it be taken out. Then I continued to say that the only reason it would become inactive would be because people didn't want to scroll to it.

Glad I could teach you the "End" thing, as far as I know it works on every site that I frequent.

I didn't notice it until I read this thread. I just use the scroll wheel until I hit the lounge.
