Funniest Half-Life franchise moments

My favourite is actually in a EP2 preview video so I'l put it in spoilers

In the Game Videos review video, the scene where Alyx rolls her eyes when Magnusson is speaking over the video call

My favourite from EP1 would be when you get the crowbar from Barney he goes

"She's waiting for you Gordon, you lucky dog you."

and HL2 would be at Eli's Lab

Eli:"When I told you to report back to me, I never thought it would take you this long." (In reference to HL1 when he asks you to report back to you from the surface)

Route Kanal;
you come across a black rebel, who lets you into a small room.
"They've been filling the tunnel with manhacks, so we have to move fast"
*looks through slot in door, manhack sounds*
"OH SHIT!"(he says it in a high-pitched voice, I saw that and loled)
it was also funny how he fights with a lead pipe, Gordon wannabe =P

Come back to that place after your second encounter with manhacks (the mesh door and all that), and you'll see something rather sad. I won't spoil it. Juts go and see for yourself.

what..?

thank god I have not seen the Magnusson spoiler video. that is the only ep2 video I have not seen. A funny moment was when father grigori laughs..

Suuure. . . once I get a copy of HL2 ^^

As in, I'm not living where my copy is D=

I assume he comes to a sorry end. I wonder if it happens like that every time...

Yeah, poor Matt dies when we left him alone.

Matt? I take it that name comes up in the sound files? Still don't know where to find them...

Oh well, it was he who said that Gordon had to leave:

"Look it isnt safe here, I will give you some supplies to get you going but then you have to leave"

Pity him not for he did his duty.

He's been named Matt (also known as Manhack Matt) in the Prima Guide and game's data files.

At the very end of Lowlife, when you're riding the elevator up to the surface, you pass by a zombie pathetically banging on the door to the elevator shaft. I always laugh when I give him a shotgun shell to the face. It becomes funnier when you imagine it from his point of view.

I always hated Manhack Matt. He promises supplies and then does nothing.

I pressed E at twenty times while threatening him with a crowbar!

I loled hard when Alyx said something like "I'll do the talking Gordon; we may need her to get out of here." to Gordon about Mossman. Easily the best moment.

I thought I was the only one who saw the irony in that. :D

Alyx's Zombine joke (or rather her reaction after Gordon's stoicism), the "You did do the math, right?" scene, Barney's remarks, and all the dark humor in HL1 were the best.

For Episode Two, Alyx pushing the corpse off the control panel looks kinda funny to me.

I know where the supplies are. I'm just pissed that he says he'll give you them, and then stands there.

Hey, poor Matt didn't pass Anticitizen 101 =P

Matt was awesome, I just found it Ironic how he sort of carries a lead pipe, like Gordon's crowbar.

That b*st*rd matt.

Ill f*cking TK him if i ever meet him

He gets killed by a manhack anyway, no matter what you do. When you go down the corridor after him you'll hear a scream and whirring. Backtrack and you find his body and a manhack. How depressing

Yeah, I saw that =(

I must have that sound clip, it has to be one of the best quotes ever!!!

By the way I never understood what they where talking about, can anyone explain???

The first level remember? He mentions a cat. I think Barney (Or valve) was just referencing the movie "The Fly"

If you want to get all Techlical, he just dies, not due to the manhack.
It's there to offer an explination.

That was definitely one of the best jokes in the HL series, perhaps not the funniest, but they worked it in really well ^^

Even if you get all the manhacks, he still dies by a straggler? Now thats sad :(

One thing that always made me laugh was in HL1 when you gibbed the soldiers, but they'd still say "Is that all you got!?" or "Medic!" :D

To date my funnyist moment had to be in Exit 17.

You know in the part with the parked trains? Between the parking lot and MG where Alyx stays? And the ledge where the Combine jumps in. It happened there.

A Citizen got killed, one of my (female) rebels yelled "You're supposed to protect us!"
A split-second later, no exagration AT ALL, a Combine looks over the edge and blasts her in the face with a shotgun. She died. It was quite halarious. I was thinking, "Don't mess with me".

I think one of the funniest things in Half Life 2 wasnt directly meant to be funny, I think it was just very clever character design.

As you travel through Half Life 2, you see these iconic Breencasts with the godlike administrator, the great Doctor Breen, spouting these long winded, perfectly recited and beautiful speaches. He looks so aloof and benevolant.

When you find your way into Breen's office... hes... hes such a dork. Such a typical nerd. Listen to his rediculously pathetic laugh and demeaner... he just seems like such a geek. I found that hillarious myself.

Loved the part where Breen tried to lift the super grav gun at the end of the HL2. He could barely lift it! He had to literally drag it off the table and put all of his strength into lifting it up to shoot Gordon..

HHAHAHAHAHA I just now notice that. It is pretty funny.

Yep, it is kinda weird how it is so heavy for Alyx and Breen, but Gordon rushes and jumps around throwing stuff without getting tired :D

Jump module was rewired for extra arm strength...

A: Breen was holding it in the wrong position, making it awkward to hold. You can't really blame him for that. He's using unfamiliar equipment in a stressful situation.
B: Alyx also seemed a small bit strained when she picked it up.

A:Well, he never used one before right?
Edit: Im aggreing with you.
B:She don't got alot of mussels.

Honestly, I think something was in that morphine =P

"Use the gravit Gun Gordon!"
"Gimme a sec, I only get my fix when I'm wounded"
*slits wrists with crowbar. . . however that is possible Oo*

Has anyone else seen this?

I forget exactly where, but there's a spot somewhere in Highway 17/Sand Traps where you can look down and see a sand beach a little ways down from the road. There's no obvious way back up, but it wouldn't be a fatal drop. While doing a playthru trying to find secret areas, I jumped down onto this beach, but halfway down the screen blacked out and the "Mission Failure" text said:

Subject: Freeman
Status: Evaluation terminated
Reason: Subject demonstrated exceedingly poor judgment

I cracked up, then did it again just to make sure I read it right. Then cracked up again.
