Been pumped for this for awhile now. I might end up missing it though, unless I can convince my friend to let us watch it at his place. One hour special too. I heard one of the commercials the other day, and their voices are pretty different. If you've been watching reruns or the dvds of the old episodes, prepare for different sounding characters.

DOOO EET

One hour special too.
cOOL

I thought they had resolved that and got the original voice actors back. This is a travesty.

Nah, they are the same voice actors, but they sound different due to not having done the voices in so long probably. Its only very slight, and I'm probably one of the few people who watch the old episodes so religiously that I can tell. And it might be even less of a difference if you got used to the movie voices, I havent watched one of them in awhile so maybe they're closer to the way it sounds in the new season.

Oh, good. I couldn't even imagine liking it if they were all different. Even just one of them different would probably piss me off.

I wonder if you come anywhere close to watching Futurama as religiously as me. I spend way too much time watching Futurama. I can watch the same episode four or five times repeatedly and still enjoy it... while I'm doing other stuff at the computer. And every night I sleep to an episode  My favorite one to sleep to lately has been Roswell That Ends Well. Fantastic.

And god damn... 90% of my posts on the forum are Futurama references.

I am absolutely stoked and am looking forward to this a great deal. I did notice the voice differences, but I figure in an actual episode environment rather than narrating the fact that Futurama is back they'll sound more or less correct.

I do have some worry based on what I've seen from the commercials though... but I'm hoping the jokes are like not as pointlessly strange as they seem from the lack of context. I loved the Futurama movies, even though they weren't as funny, and I hope that the fact they're back to 20 minute episode length that they won't have such a hard time stretching the funny and can pack in enough great content each episode.

It's Futurama though... there's no way I can end up not loving it.

Oh man, the first episode was great! I can't wait for the rest!

? They start June 24th yo. (Unless you're referring to the actual first episode of the series).

GODAAMNNNT. I have been so damn pissed about this. Work for Summerfest (big music festival in Milwaukee) starts on Thursday from 6 to midnight and runs until the 4th of July... not only am I missing out on the premiere, but also the second episode. ****!

Holy shit! I came here about to make a thread all, Futurama is back? Only to find a thread that says, Futurama is back!

That's cool. How many movies where there? Feels like I might have missed one.

4 Films:

Bender's Big Score (about the scammer nudist aliens and time travel)
The Beast With a Billion Backs (tentacle monster and league of robots)
Bender's Game (DnD/LotR homage)
Into the Wild Green Yonder (galactic golf course)

Hmm.. I think I have seen them. But I might be good to catch up. It's been like a year since I saw them.

I just saw 'em (I haven't watched, spotted the files) on the net myself, people must be hyped to shit about this to leak critic previews.

I am so pumped. I watched all the DVD movies recently because I started to get tired of the reruns, but now there's new episodes! Will it start on the same time on Canadian Comedy Network?

It's Futurama!

Just let it be known that here on hl2.net though we don't advocate the cool crime of robbery.

Indeed, one of the worst and coolest of crimes.

Pumped for tonight... better set my DVR timer.

EDIT: **** IT'S ****ING WEDNESDAY! I wasn't even paying attention. ARGH.

I'm going crazy here. I woke up thinking it was thursday.

I probably come pretty close. I've power watched every season in a row, like 6 or 7 times now. I used to watch them while working on slow work days. And every once in awhile I'll queue up a couple in VLC and watch them whenever I'm bored. Lets put it this way, I don't think I've ever not gotten one of your futurama references on hl2.net.

Well, they're usually all pretty painfully obvious. Haha.

Anyway, I wasn't saying you weren't as hardcore as me, I just think it's cool knowing there are Futurama freaks out there as crazy as me. Though I don't post in futurama forums like gotfuturama and peelified though... which makes me not as hardcore as them I guess.

I'm feeling an incredible urge to watch the episode before it actually airs tomorrow. I don't think I'll do that though. To be respectful I'll wait. I'll wait and suffer through commercials.

You're all futufags.

Not to be confused with futafags.

I bet Vegeta would love Futurama... but he's always calling me a Futufag every time I reference stuff to him. I bet he'd like it just like he loved It's Always Sunny. He badmouthed us over that too!

It was up on Ninjavideo last night. Probably still is. The first episode is very Douglas Adams-esque.

I watched the first episode on Megavideo just now.

You're right Emp. I just finished reading all the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy books, and it left me with an empty feeling.

The wait is killing me! All I could think about at work today was Futurama.

I just finished watching all of Season five in an attempt to fight the temptation to download the new one before it airs.

Can't wait. Yeaahoo!

HAHAHA that was actually a very good holler...I heard it in Fry's voice!

just watched the first two episodes. first one is a little odd because of the voices, but aside from that, it's a pretty good introductory episode that sets the season up. lot of classic futurama off-plot funnies which are my favourite parts of any episode, just as many in the next episode which is brannigan centric so that's to be expected even though the story is a little iffy.

aside from that, good stuff.

brannigan: ''my god, we're defenseless, like fish in a barrel!''
nixon: ''options?"'
brannigan, from the inside of a barrel: ''my instinct is to hide in this barrel, like the wiley fish!''

I thought Zap Brannigan own episode was great.

The Zapper is always brilliant.

jfirst one is a little odd because of the voices

There voices were odd? Just got done watching the 2 episodes and I didn't notice anything.

But they were great. Actually laughed at Benders "coma" scene

Great episodes. I laughed many times. The most of which was when the professor pulled the wrong switch. His reaction had me rolling.
