G4 going bye-bye

Oh well, never watched it anyway. Maybe in 5 years or so when gaming is even more mainstream it'd be more prevalent.
 
Yeah, I haven't watched it for a year or so either. Pulse was amazing though, why it was taken off the air bugs me. I liked Icons a lot too..
 
It was inevitable. Since TechTV's merge with G4 it's been nothing but garbage for the most part.
 
I heard it was garbage, never seen an episode though...
 
Xplay was a good show when they didn't try to be funny. Then it was just pitiful.

Xplay's been trying to be funny since it was Extended Play on TechTV. They took the "pitiful humor" idea and made it into an art form. Was half the reason I watched it. :D
 
I sometimes watch Attack of the Show, Xplay, Icons, and Game Makers, everything else is crap.

I think Xplay has its funny moments.
 
I only watched that channel when I was flipping through and saw reruns of Brainiac and occasionally The Man Show. When it wasn't playing either of those two, I remember seeing some of the most godawful programming this side of Lifetime. I mean seriously ... talk about insulting someones intelligence, it felt like Noggin trying to be edgy.

I mean it was awful.
 
as a long-time viewer, i have been expecting this for a LONG time.... its been going downhill for a while now.

i have been watching since it was ZDTV, with Leo Laporte, Kate Botello, Jim Louderback(sp?), Sumi Das, etc etc.

Gamespot TV(Xplay) was nice back in the day, when it was only Adam Sessler. Ah well, all good things have to end sometime... :flame:
 
kinda like xplay when they review good games, plus morgan webb is a babe
 
One day Fox Sports will be hosting Quake tournaments, and all shall praise gaming FOREVER!

I want Screen Savers, Call for Help, and EXTENDED Play (Not Xplay like those queerbo's at G4 made it) played all day, back to back with Leo and Pat

Extended Play didn't try to be NEARLY as funny, and they were more conservative about it anyway. Xplay is basically either "hay, lets throw in bad slapstick!" or "hay, lets self-depriciate ourselves cause we're so hxc!"

Once in awhile they'd have a skit that'd get a chuckle out of me, but meh.

I think maybe its folding because it blows not because gaming is too narrow. Maybe they'll decide to not suck so much now.
 
did anyone else actually watch it back in the days of Leo and Kate on the Screensavers? or Gamespot TV? Fresh Gear, etc
 
I loved it back in the ZDTV days, and G4 had a few good shows, Portal was great, so was...well Portal was about all that was worth watching

I did! I remember watching all those shows. Fresh Gear w/ Sumi Das, The Screen Savers w/ Patrick Norton, Leo Laporte, Cat Schwartz, Megan Morrone, Yoshi, Jessica, and others, Call for Help w/ Chris Pirillo, Roger Chang, Becky, and Brett, Tech Live, Eye Drops, Robot Wars, Extended Play w/ Adam Sessler and Kate Botello, etc. Amazing how much I still remember. I started watching in the middle of 2001, so ZDTV was before my time.
 
It was pretty annoying for the most part. Oh well. I hope something else comes along to take its place.
 
I used to like G4 when it was about games. Now it's just like the following: Cars (occasionally), Star Trek (wft!!!?), Scantly clad women (that's what the internet is for!), Ghetto (.....), and very few shows that actually have games. Cheat, X-Play, Icons (on occasion), and Cinematech (not stupid "nocturnal emmisions" or whatever).
 
Wow..G4 sucks ass. They show 532 hours of different versions of "call for help", attack of the show and all these other garbage shows.

I want them to air actual shows about gaming and technology. Like, computer architecture or something like that. Icons, Game Makers is good, but it's only 1/2 hour long and doesn't go in depth really, i want to see that change.
 
Hopefully it'll change for the better. TechTV was so godly... it hurts to think about how orgasmic it was.
 
they better not take off Xplay. Also I miss the old disembodied voice when the show orginally started.

Morgan Webb was hot, & Adam sessler had a reciding hair line & was funny.

I loved it when they make fun of actors & stuff; like when they made fun of Sean Conery.

G4 in 04' & 05' it was good. They had icons, Electronic playground, Filters w/ that asian chick. screen savers, unscrewed w/ Martin sargent......WHY THE **** DID THEY TAKE OFF THAT SHOW!!!!!!! Then yearly they would have a show called video game vixins & there was G-fouria video game awards.
 
The only think on G4 that was slightly entertaining was Happy tree friends. Both of xplay's hosts are more annoying than i can stand, especially the guy.... but especially the chick. None of the other shows had anything special to them either.

Edit: what are you talking about, Morgan Webb isn't even slightly attractive.....
 
Xplay isn't a bad show. The jokes are lame and usually not very funny, sure, but it has its own kind of charm. Not to mention their reviews tend to be right on and their previews tend to be actual criticisms and not just hype. That alone places X-play above most magazines and websites for quality gaming information. Attack of the Show, however, could be a lot better.
