btw this also most likely means no HL on the PS3,which is a good thing imo

I saw interview with Gabe where he was talking about PS3 and he only criticized some points.
And no HL on PS3 is not good thing imo.

The video footage Polaris posted dates back to before EP1 came out. It was part of 1Ups Valve week series of interviews/features. Gabe dissed the X360 at the same time as well. However things have since taken a u-turn on such matters.

Personally I think the PS3 is just too expensive to justify, however I know a couple of people with more money than sense who are sliding off their seats in their excitement to get one...

Half Life 2 (+episodes/portal) are coming to the Ps3... Newell and VALVe just aren't making it. :E

When that video was shot, Gabe thought that both next-gen consoles were pretty bad, the Ps3 was just the worst. Now he thinks the Ps3 is worse off than it's ever been, and the 360 is ok/decent/awesome because of Xbox LIVE and the excellent dev tools Microsoft is putting out for game studios to compile and bug-test code on the multi-core and multi-thread 360 processor (Sony's dev tools are arguably by far the worst department for the Playstation). I'm sure he appreciates unified shaders and twice the video RAM on the Xenos as well.

This is totally true, most of the 'good' games coming out on ps3 require a hi def tv, which means all in all you need to spend about 1000 quid (in england at least) to be able to enjoy it.

It'll cost an extra 100 pounds if you want to enjoy that chrome trim aswell :LOL:
 
I always supported PS3 because of the revolutionary Cell processor, which was rumoured to be faster and more efficient than any other on the market today, but frankly I think I'll go with Wii, as I need the exercise.

Do we really need any more evidence that the PS3 sucks and that Sony are suicidal?
 
mgs4 and other games are the only thing that keep me leashed to the ps3

anyway I want to know if sony fired the guy in charge of all this?
 
That was one of the most clear and intelligent comments I have ever heard about the ps3.

Wasn't the Commodore Amiga harder to develop for because of it's custom chipset, compared to the Atari ST? I made the mistake of telling an ST fanboy that, and it made his day.
 
The "Cell" Processor is equal to the 360's. Which is funny.

Now stop wasting valuable time getting it on the ps3 and release the bugger on pc and xbox 360 only ^^

What does that have to do with anything? The point is the Cell processor is really hard to develop for compared to the other consoles. Is that not true?

Not really, you can buy a monitor that supports hdtv (over here it'll cost you about 200 more or less) then buy a converter. I already have a monitor that supports hdtv, So all I would need is DVI-HDMI converter. Only problem is I would have to keep unplugging my pc mointor. Which means I can't be on say a gaming site and play on a next gen console at the same time.

I say shut your mouths unless you've played both.

Or, a better option, DON'T ****ING COMPARE THEM. SAVE US ALL A LOT OF TROUBLE.

A more appropriate response would have been, "It's in an interview with Game Informer Magazine. I suggest you pick it up and read it because I'm too lazy to write out a sentence or two describing his argument."

But nah, you had to go and use internet acronyms and talk about internet popularity like it matters.

My guess is it's something along the lines of....
"The Ps3's has bad tools"

"The Ps3 is to expensive"
"The Ps3 can't have porn on it(Blu-Ray cannot have porn)"
and etc....

John Carmack isn't saying good things either.

1.) You mean, bad tools/hard to develop for as one thing? Well who cares? Developing games is never easy.
2.) It's a bargain.
3.) Blu-Ray can and does have porn, but it's Japanese so it's disgusting.



Seriously though, I'd like to hear his real reasoning behind this opinion.
