Garfield The Movie

I've seen this and I'm still finding it hard to understand what the ****ing point to 'these' kind of films. By that I mean films like Garfield and The Mask 2... has Hollywood run out of ideas or somethin? I suppose aslong as we dont start seeing furry Garfields stuck to car windows again its not too bad :|
 
Wrong, wrong, WRONG. Leave garfield alone you bloody fat cat (no pun intended) 'moviemakers'. Jesus.
 
yep the mantra in hollywood today is -take a classic, spend next to nothing, and ruin it so future generations don't know how good it used to be.
 
What I think is weird is that Garfield isn't suppose to be active and as far as I remember he's ****ing FAT! None of these elements are in the movie...
 
gonna be a load of shit if you ask me.

i loved the comics, you just got this cool laid back vibe from jim davis' art. but this film? not a chance. kerching!

I thought so too. They even say that in the trailer itself!

They have to stop making half-assed movies like this. Even though I don't go to see them, I just find it annoying that something I once enjoyed is being turned into crap. What's even more annoying is people still go to see movies like this.

Thank god Gabe is doing the right thing and not making a Half-Life movie until he's sure it won't be something like this crap!! Aaahhhh!!!

Now that I've relieved tension it makes me wonder if they will continue this trend and do a live-action Charlie Brown movie with a balding, big-headed kid as the lead. :P
 
I've seen it a while ago, and the only question that popped into my mind was 'WTF?!'
I thought I clicked the wrong url, this isn't Garfield, this is a hyperactive skinny cat and not a trace of sarcasm. Garfield is supposed to be a cynic sarcastic lazy fat-ass cat.
They would show Garfield more respect by shaving him bald, putting him in a latex costume and let him be raped to death by three big black guys.

How dare they defile such holiness as the cat Garfield. Garfield is...life itself, a philosohy worthy of all men! May they of Hollywood be smitten to smitherenes by loads of lasagna!!

A CGI dancing NOT-sarcastic cat and a real dog that seems more like a tortured trained sad little dog.

the tagline: "It's all about ME-OW" Oh hahahah, get it?! teh funneh!!=#¤6t
let's take a look at the plot: "Jon Arbuckle buys a second pet, a dog named Odie. However, Odie is then abducted and it is up to Jon's cat, Garfield, to find and rescue the canine." wow, talk about originality!! man this POS is so gonna flop.


"Hey, let's make a movie of Calvin and Hobbes? Yeeaaah!! And the tiger should be all CGI it'd be so cool and all everyone will love him because they'll think he's so cute. Also Calvin shouldn't be so sarcastic and philoshophical, it might confuse and upset people." for fooks sake Hollywood, don't get this low...
 
Oh yeah and what the **** happend to Odie?! He's suppose to be yellow, with a black spot on one the left side of his stomach. His tongue is suppose to be about 2 feet long and his neck was at least 2 feet long aswell! WHAT THE ****!??!?!!!?!?

Only thing they got right was get Bill Murrey as the voice, but even then it doesn't sound right, probably got made to put a voice on, which defeats the point

I'm not gonna mention the rest as I'm a big garfield fan and yeah, we all know what I'm like when I get into a rant about something I'm not happy with :E

I'll just watch boomerang on cable in the UK for my daily fix of REAL garfield.

Why in the name of almighty Lucifer did they not animate the dog?
All it does is set a standard for realism that the poorly animated cat can't live up to.
And why aren't his stripes black?

The only possible explanation is that they spent so little on the budget in order to intentionally cut thier losses. I mean, the thing only has one special effect and it's utter crap.

Looks nothing like garfield, I love the comics, so as a true fan of him, I will NOT go burn my eyes out by watching this film, I will download it maybe, but I wont be paying for it, thats for sure.

note: Trailer not funny.
 
Oh come on? "It's all about ME-OW" Now that's not funny? Anyone who thinks that isn't funny just doesn't know humor. Get it? he's a self-centered cat? Cats go meow, self-centered people care about themselves "ME". Comic genius!
 
The cgi was very very very bad, allthough I agree, bill doing the voice is perfect, yet the film will not be that great... only good.. maybe not even that :(

Some of the jokes where funny, I laughed at "down dumb dog" but thats about it.

I liked it. It looked funny. Exept Garfield running around like that. Come on hes lazy as hell. He wouldent run around like that.
 
I think they just showed a lot of clips of him running around for the same reason they make TV ads really loud. Attention grabbing.
 
Just went and read the synopsis. Apparently as well as Garfield and Odie, Nermal and Arlene feature too. I find that interesting. Could mean it's closer to the strip after all.

I can't wait to hear what Arlene sounds like, what with that gap between her teeth and all.
 
I bet in the film Jon gets with Liz.

Just to ruin it.
