Gas prices

It's so funny when Americans think their gas prices are high.

European public transportation is highly superior to American. You're damn right we think our gas prices are high. We either drive, or we can't get anywhere. It's not like in Germany where I can just walk 80 Meters down the road, and hop onto the bus to Hagen or Iserlohn. The closest bus stop to my house is 8 miles away. And all it does is go to down town, in the industrial district. It's not even where the restraunts and theatres are. So please, keep laughing.

Yes, I have experience of American infrastructure. During three weeks in CA I didn't spot a single bus. That's probably why you're allowed to drive when you're 16 too (even 14 and 15 in some states), even though many people are not ready.

the only transportation that is even near Tampa is like one or two bus companys, not even that in plant city (a very small town were i live)

Actually it's gone up, can't remember what it is at the moment.

6.5$ a gallon. But we do have the best, or one of the best public transportation systems in the world.

Less than 1 U$ for a full tank, yep, we are the second country with cheapest gas, it`s cheaper than water here, believe it or not...

Around 90p per litre here. Though i don't drive yet. But will be soon.
Gonna be expensive to drive :( Wish they'd hurry up and find some different energy source.

i guess that the real noobs that have no forum experence post there to start off

about $1.00 a litre here or more (sudbury, canada). Its easy math now 56 litres of gas = $56. Gas stations have to make bigger signs cause they can only go up to 99.9 cents, by the way that is ridiculously expensive. remeber you have to multiply by 3.785 to get american gallons.

The luxury of the personal automobile is coming to an end, have fun in the last few years of its life. Because unless you are rich I don't think you are going to want to fill up in the next few years. It's all in the sig.

i am assuming that 95% of everybody here drives, the reason i say that is because i was wondering what are the gas prices were you live, in florida the have jumped from 2.19 to 2.40 in the past week, the gas prices are getting way out of control imo.

your thoughts

Why the hell are you moaning about the prices, you have it lucky compared to the UK :hmph:

Paying 95pence a litre, driving a 4 litre V8 engined car, I spend rather too much on petrol :(

What kind of car? I've got a 5 liter V8 car

I love it, though.

Some of us are americans walking is just too much.......exercise

didnt want to start a new thread...

so whats your prices looking like now?
the highest i have seen around here is 3.15

3.30 last i checked and most stations are out of gas.

3.02 for regular unleaded. Haven't come across any place that is out of gas yet, but then again I've been riding my bike to school.

what if we do run out of gas? no one could get to school. would school be cancelled? what about getting to your job? no income for a few weeks = no electricity

to many questions...

About 3.40 from what I've seen on average. My STi gets good MPG but there's really no point in driving inside boston, I take the subway and walk to school.

my dad just got back from town and he said that he saw a station that is at $4.01...i hate this

Things are going to be a bit tight for a while.

Ennui the main supplier for NC and most south eastern states is located about 10 mins from my house. They are recieving gas right now or sometime soon, don't worry its coming.

You guys need to read this link on what Brasil has done. They are doing a fantastic job and I give them mad props.

I am inclined to believe the only reason it hasn't happened in the past decade is because Americans don't care to know how gas companies are making money hand and foot at their expense as long as the gas is cheap.

Europeans could have been pioneering the technology all these years but I am assuming the government is so dependant on the massive tax collected from fuel it wasn't a high priority for them to find ways to have their citizens half their usage and or price with efficient vehicles.

I could be wrong, but regardless... GO BRASIL!
