Heh, no, go back to stroking portaits of you, Angry :p

So are you going to tell us more, or just leave us with another pointless, dead-ended thread?

SUE for peace! SUE for peace with the soviets before the allies get you!!!!!1111oneoneleven

More blatant attention whore-ing. I say we ban them before it gets any worse.

Has the halflife2.net stupidity factor risen?

I see it as a Chernobyl kind of thing - The mutants can be found roaming the area, rarely chased by Stalkers. You can hear their howling in the distance (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOB! FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG! LAAAAAAAAWL!) when they gather in groups, and every once in a while, they'll gather around an anomaly, which, you guessed, is a metaphor for a thread. They cling to these areas, and stalkers often shy from coming anywhere near these anomalies, because they know that if they get too close, they'll pull you in, too. When enough mutants have gathered near an anomaly, Stalkers usually take interest and observe this strange phenomena. Sometimes, when stalkers get tired of this incessant chanting, they push a mutant into the anomaly, banishing both the mutant and the anomaly, and the rest scatter.

That's my mental perception of it.

Good call Polaris, was gonna do that but I see someone did it first.

Yeah being sued is pretty bad. I find it's much better to sue. Then sue some more. And keep a list of reasons to sue somebody. Because if someone else sues you!! Countersue them back.

Oops, my bad, thought that was sarcasm... /cynicism

Sorry

Ironically, I'm Jewish... but alright.

C-C-C-COUNTER-SUE!
Ha, yes, I plan on it.

Long story short, my old landlord is a greedy bastard and made up a bunch of stuff that I didn't do to his house, and then inflated the price of the repairs so it costed more than my security deposit and tried to bill me for it. I told him to **** off (in so many much more polite words), so now he's attempting to sue. I'm guessing he expected me to roll over and just give him the money a long time ago... but I'm talking with a lawyer and we're probably going to put together a countersuit.

Unfortunately, I never took pictures when I moved in or out, so its basically his word against mine. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Regardless I really don't think he has a chance of getting me to pay him a cent.

Well my daddy left home when I was three,
And he didn't leave much to ma and me,
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze...

Did you not do an inventory of the place? That's what it's there for.

We did, but I was dumb and didn't make a copy.

Regardless, reasonable prices for all the stuff he put in there doesn't add up to more then $1000. I'd already kinda written off that deposit as long gone when this whole thing started, so I don't care so much about not getting that back. So, even if we can't prove that we didn't do it, we can prove that he's already got enough of our money to cover it.

I was sued (my family) a number of years back ..for $125,000 ...the person died a few months before it was scheduled to go to court ...

btw it's his burden of proof to provide evidence repairs cost what they did and even then he has to prove you caused those repairs ..if it's simple maintenance he's shit out of luck. dont pay his a nickle ..try to go to renters tribunal BEFORE going to court, it's usually free (unless it goes to court)

What was he suing you for? Pre-murder?

he wanted $125,000

:)

no really, he tried to say he put in $25,000 into a property my family owned (he was renting) and $100,000 for "emotional distress" for being evicted

Aaah. And yeah, it's always emotion distress.

Obviously it really affected him... :p
