Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is a next-generation game in the fullest sense, whether it's the loaded package of impressive graphics and special effects, the top-notch sound, or the tactically enhanced gameplay. Red Storm's four-plus months of extra time have served the game incredibly well and you can see the difference in the screenshots and you will feel it in the gameplay. It's still Ghost Recon, which is to say it's still a rather acquired taste in first/third-person shooters, but as the series goes, this one is easily the best one yet. You'll be impressed with the stunning single-player game, and when you're done, you'll finally get to play long sessions on Xbox Live with an online game that's fully equipped to deliver a next-gen package. My advice, get this game, or get thee to a nunnery!

still need a kick in the gonads for delaying the pc version <grumble grumble>

Heh...I have yet to see a 360 game top 9.0 in the graphics department. I thought that this one would for sure.

Im picking this and revenge up tmr.

Wow. Second review thread for Stern  Thanks buddy.

I'll be getting this soon probably after revenge. But I need to upgrade to XBOX live gold.

Almost makes me want an X360.... almost, hopefully they don;t skimp on the PC version

Won't be getting it, the first Ghost recon to me was the best. When I play Ghost Recon I want a military simulator that is at least close to what current combat is like. By going to far into the future it just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

Apparently it shipped today. Missing the ship date FTW...

Definitely going to pick this one up. I haven't played a good military shooter in ages.

Good to hear that it's getting good reviews. My EBGames store said that they'd be getting their shipments in tomorrow. I'll be picking up my copy on my lunch break.

Sure, they delayed the PC version, but they are enhancing so much of the gameplay (to make it more like GR1) that the wait will definitely be worth it. I would feel a little annoyed if I were a 360 gamer because they are getting a dumbed down version, but many of them haven't played the first one and so they don't know what they are missing!

We have a gameplay that is very different from the gameplay of the console version; for instance the ghosts are controlled in a way that is specific to the PC, with a much more accurate order system. This involves adapting all the game content (including reprogramming completely the enemy AI) and tuning it to this way of playing. We shared the storyline and setting of the XBox 360, but all the rest had to be reworked, to appeal to a GR1 audience while at the same time taking into account the new PC specific features. The other major differences are, of course, full first person control, and PC-specific multiplayer modes.

The real question is whether or not they deliver on what they're saying, hopefully they do

qft, ah well oblivion should keep my entertained...

lol, Project Gothem gets a 10 in graphics. Have you ever played the game :O

LOL, 10 is a score which should be reflected on the other games on the market at that time, PRG3 is by far the most graphically orgasmic racing game to date. I would like to see anyone show me any other racing game that looks better. This is why it should be given a 10/10 for graphics. Admitly the gameplay is only alright, proberly overal I would give it about an 8. But the graphics definatly deserve 10 :D

Meh, I never liked the Ghost Recon series. Or any of Clancy's games for that matter.

Just picked mine up today. Going to play it later tonight. This is the 1st Ghost recon game im getting. Hope i like it. I also picked up Burnout.

EGM : 9.5
Game Informer : 9.5

Gamespot : 9.2

The Good: Campaign is exciting and challenging, even at normal difficulty; the door-gunner missions are awesome; offers a definite tactical feel with its difficulty; amazing graphics and presentation; really looks and feels like you're in a city....

The Bad: ...except there are no civilians; teammate artificial intelligence leaves something to be desired; bright, high-contrast lighting can sometimes make it difficult to see.

As far as I'm concerned a 10 on graphics should only be awarded if the game's visuals are WAY ahead of the curve and really contribute to the game. I can't remember the last game that got a 10 on graphics. I think PGR3 deserves the rating it got. I've played the game and graphics are nice but nothing spectacular in comparison to what we've been seeing elsewhere.

Ehh.. Gamespot exaggerates.

EGM always gives shitty scores. I'm surprised by this.

And IGN overexaggerates. GameSpot underexaggerates.

GRAW's graphics to me are the best out there right now on any system or pc, I dont know of any game out there with better graphics. Ive been lost in this game for the past 5 1/2 hours if that says anything...... dam I need some grub.

My review...

I played it for a coupel hours at a friend's house on XBOX360. It was cool - but it seemed very arcadey (dumbed down) to me. The crosshairs are massive & the HUD is annoying as ****. It wasn't nearly as bad when I figured out how to switch to FPS mode (turn off sholder-cam).

Multiplayer wasn't bad - except for a couple server had some setting enabled which was like gaydar, but worse. Not only could you see everyone on your map, but you could also see their exact position on your screen.

Overall, it's a good game, but definitely not comparable to a quality PC FPS.

Man both games are the shit. Been playing them for hours.

I just bought this, and I have to say that albeit it's still arcadey it does feel alot more realistic than Ghost Recon 2 imo.
I can't wait to buy the PC vers too, I mean, that's supposed to be the realistic vers!<3<3
This has to be my number 1 fav 360 game now tbh..
Now just 14 days(For us Swedes) until Oblivion releases!<3

What games can compete with PGR3 in terms of graphics? I would be very intrested to know this...

So yeah, the reason I've been off the forums for the past few days is GRAW. Fan. F*cking. Tastic. I haven't had this much fun in both Single Player and Multiplayer in a long time.

I just finished the single player campaign.
To be honest the final mission felt sort of dissappointing, being way short compared to the previous mission, which felt far more like a final mission..
I still need to get my XBL Gold subscription so I can play online.
Axyon, I just have a question, does the game use a different "engine" online?
It does doesn't it?
It does for example lack the fully dynamic softshadowing and selfshadowing of the SP mode, doesn't it?

Anyway, great ****ing game, I haven't had this fun in a SP action game for quite a while, too bad it felt so short(I finished it by just playing it on and off since 4 PM GMT+1 yesterday), I dunno how long it took me to finish the game.

I can't wait for GR4.
My only real gripe with the game itself is for example, far too hard to get teammates killed, they should've have it so that you can only revive your teammates x amount of times for each mission.
Also the teammate AI is pretty damn stupid sometimes, so I'd like some improvement for that.

Pretty much GRAW and Fight Night Round 3. Soon, we should be able to add Oblivion, Chromehounds, and Blazing Angels to that list, assuming the latter two get a few key improvements.

Axyon and Garg, I heard people complain about the framerate in GRAW. How would you, personally, rate it?

Man this game kicksass! GFX are insane, effects models everything LIGHTING! Man its so fun! Cant wait to beat it and play co-op.

Its fine. Sometimes and iv been playing for 6 hours and it happened twice the fps dipped for like a sec. Thats nothing i mean 6 hours of gameplay 2 dips for like a sec each. Fps is great.

Yeah, it's a downgraded engine for MP, but it still looks decent enough. I was worried that they weren't using AA for the MP in released screenshots, but it's present in retail so that's fine. Your point about the team AI I partially agree on - one too many times I've seen the grenadier blow himself up against a wall, but there are other times where I actually shout 'awesome' at the TV when my team smoothly goes about their actions and orders, taking cover efficiently and fighting with authenticity.

There are small sections in SP where the framerate dips to ~25/s, but otherwise it's solid - 20 enemies on screen, trucks blowing up, nothing changes it. There is one MP map that has a consistently bad framerate though, but it looks gorgeous.

Best graphics I've ever seen bar none.

The city is so freaking enormous.

I've only had 3 major framerate dips in the entire games, otherwise none that's really noticeable.
Beware of the nightvision tho, seeing as when you put it on the game gets like a 10-15 FPS increase it makes it appear like the game is lagging when you revert back to standard vision, atleast for me.
