Could really use some ideas for a book to adapt to film, or maybe an old film to remake as a project for a group I'm in. We did a decent job with "And Then There Were None" AKA "Ten Little Indians" by Agatha Christie last year, but are struggling to find something to do this time around. Original writing has so far proved to be, well, crap. We can only really film in urban or forest areas which limits it quite a bit.

Any help is appreciated, if this doesn't work out then will probably have a go at a light-hearted film, even though comedy is very hard to write.

Thanks in advance.

Paradise Lost.

But in all seriousness, usually short stories are fun to make into films.

brave new world lends itself nicely

Ender's Game is in development(hell)

Rendezvous with Rama

I'd have to agree with enders game. Catcher in the Rye possibly. Brave New World.

The Stranger wouldn't be too difficult. Just have to change the setting to wherever you are.

Lord of the Flies?
Heart of Darkness. :D
Ooh - Riddley Walker.

That third one might be very easy. It's set in post-apocalyptic neo-iron-age Kent...and it's very good. And everybody speaks a strange pseudo-language.

Lord of the Flies?
Heart of Darkness. :D

Lord of the Flies is already done and Apocalypse Now = Heart of Darkness

I recommend The Forever War but Hollywood would **** up the message

I'm not from Hollywood though. I live near Newcastle in the UK. Group of us 17/18 and younger, and a few older retired guys.

A quick outline of the plot and any major locations would be helpful too. Thanks for the help already given.

if brave new world would be a movie, it would be 1/4th prono lol

oh my god.... Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. The screenplay almost writes itself. Anyone else read this?
