I think post counts, join dates and titles are all equally useless. They only serve to divide users into artificial classes that have no meaning.

i think Mully.. or was it Canadian who suggested pple spamming more because they didn't have the fear of a post count staring at everyone.
anyway.. not my problem.. thank god i am not part of the staff here.

...Ever since the post counts were removed, people have been using this as a way to spam without consiquence. A good majority of the users are now posting without thinking (creating problems such as those discussed in this thread) and as a result, this highly respected forum is now sliding downward into the depths of all the other forums out there.
It's not pretty.
Neither am I. Why did halflife2.net decide to do this? I find it to be a bad move. There is no logical or explicative reason for this. Why did the post counts need to be removed?! I believe they should be visible for all to see by any member.DarkStar said:I'm not in favor of this.
Gossoon said:Not in favor of this. I'm obviously not a post-hound. Just look how long I've been here and what my postcount is... wait - you can't!. But I think the postcount was useful because it helped identify new people and therefore helped you to deal with them. If someone asked a silly question you looked at their postcount and cut them a little slack because they are new. Now you can't sort the idiots from the newbies.
Bad Move.
I've no idea, only just noticed it.Erestheux said:Why the hell are they back?
