What are the possiblities of there being an attraction between the characters?
I hope that in the end, there will be a girl for gordan to get, it kind of seems like that hes gonna get alyx i believe her name is...

what do you guys think about love being a part of the HL series? think it will get that deep?

I for one would like to see a deeper story line like that... maybe HL3 could almost be like a movie, an interactive movie.

Speaking of which, I think I read about people asking for HL movie somewhere, lol, can you believe that?

speaking of which, do you guys think a HL movie would be a good move? do you think it would be the next trend in movies after super heros? making games into movies?

I can see that happening, lol. Those directors are obviously running out of ideas.
 
It's been discussed a few times. We're sort of hoping it won't come to that as it's a bit too cliched.
 
well you see the source engine is so powerful it can fulfill gabes fantasies of the first real-time sex scene between two characters. I demoed it myself and it uses a "behind" the camera view and gives you the commands: "hit that ass" "lift the biatch" ect ect. Gabe is the innovater of new things.

the administrator is the father of alyx- alyx was a test subject for the combine and the administrator disowned her after she fled and joined the resistence. Oh spoiler

It's been done quite a few times before. The Super Mario movie sucked.
I enjoyed the movies based on Streetfighter and Mortal Kombat. Resident Evil was kind of ok but nothing special. I haven't seen Tomb Raider yet, but that's another good example. So it's not like HL would start a trend. It's been done before with mixed results.
 
actually the streetfighter movie was considered the worst out of the bunch by many- the best ive seen so far was resident evil and tomb raider 1. They are the only game movies that come to the quality of non game movies.

I think that would be a bit too predictable (her, barney or Dr. WotZisName).

EDIT: Thinking about it, i don't think they could bcause of laws in countries like Germany (not sure though).


If anyone dies (on gordons side) i think 'Dog' will die saving Alyx.
 
One of the questions taken out of the interview was..

Yet another question goes unanswered :/

Nearly all movies that have been based on a game have disapointed fans. Tomb Raider, the original movie was a bit of a joke although I hear the second one is better.

Street Fighter was ok but only a cartoon movie. Super Mario Brothers tried and was indeed entertaining but failed. The Mortal Combat movies.. oh dear god.. don't even go there.

etc, etc.
 
no, what happens is the gordan dies because he sacrifices himself to save the other three plus two more characters at the end- oh spoiler

If they do make a movie, it'll be interesting to see how the public (and media) react to it.
 
gabe already said they have been approached by many studios wanting to make a movie of the game- but gabe said he will only do it if a high quality director or someone that will do the game justice comes along.

Spielberg - isn't he the one that took the guns out of ET so that it would be more "suitable" for families? (The guns were never fired BTW.)

maybe you will have a choice of who to save at the end (like in spiderman movie, execpt you only save one)
 
If they did it, the first thing they must do, is edit. \residue processing can go, as can most of apprehension (except the crusher and assassins, natch) etc. Second thing is put in stuff that wasn't in the game. For ideas, well, www.fanfiction.net is pretty good. Third, you'd have to decide-do you take the arty aproach (the perspective never leaves Gordon, it could be all in one shot-or appear to be) or the cinematic approach, showign action with both opfor marines and gordon, with dogfights betwix alien ships and f-16s, and crashing ospreys, and stuff.
Fourthly, blitering action. Fifthly, Mp5, not M4. Finally, In-jokes. Have members off the games cast play dying scientists. Have people say the exact lines from the game. Have a scientist playing the game in the beginning and saying 'excuse me Gordon but I'm rather busy right now.'

Personally I think Ridley 'Alien, Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down' Scott would be good. Or maybe James 'Aliens, Terminator, The Abyss' Cameron would be good. But Steven Spielburg...is a brilliant director (Schindler's List, anyone) put probably not suited to the film. But he might surprise us.) And he did not take the guns out of ET, ET is not a childrens film despite appearences. It is an excellent, addult film. A seven-year old can enjoy it but not properly appreciate it.

Well, that's my two cents as you keerrr-aaaazy Americans say. Opinions?:cheese:
 
Street fighter is the worst movie ever made in my opinion. Mortal Kombat 2 is second place.

Charlie Sheen would gaurantee the film to be a failure, he's a two-bit actor who makes two-bit films. I see a HL film as being very similar to the Die Hard movies. It would be a kind of cross between Die Hard and The X Files (programme not movie)

James Cameron for director. He needs a new project.
 
What an awful idea, there is only a slim chance of getting it right. It would probably end up as monumental flop, most producers will change everything to make it look more glitzy, they will include a love story with Alyx (no doubt) and kill off the gman at the end since he's "obviously" the bad guy... the movie will be a major disappointment unless they have the Valve employees as advisors.

They'd have to start at HL1 first though, there would be no alyx. Imagine the film ran exactly as the game does, just a ongoing never ending journey through hell. It would be like '24'. I'd watch it
