Some kid backed into my car with his truck getting out of his driveway, ****ed my rear passenger side door up and knocked the trim off the passenger side, thankfully the window is still fine and the frame is still good.

Just figured I would let helplife2.net know

You should have bought a Vectra. It wouldn't have just surrendered like that bucket of rust you've got.

Just a shame it's still drivable... You could have had the chance to buy a propper car.

I still plan to buy a proper car, I'll prolly get $1000 from the insurance company, plus the $5k I'm getting in August, I can finally get something proper

Helplife2.net does not care!

I've thankfully never been in an accident in the 4 years of my driving. Ive only had a couple close calls. Once was when I was at a stop sign, and I couldnt see around the corner, so i started going when it seemed like no one was coming. I saw him as soon as i was too far into the street, so I gunned it, and turned hard to the right to give me more distance. I ended up on some guys lawn, and the other driver was like wtf?

That's shocking Dali... this kid must be a horrible driver. Get yourself a Fiat. ;)

I have, 2002 Punto too. My girlfriend was parking it up my drive today and stalled it putting it into the front wall of my house :( Needs a new bumper now.

Ohhh, I'm an '01. :) Great car for practicality and cost.

By the way, get the lemon curd told, what's she duffing your motor for? ;)

Jeremy Clarkson hates the Vectra :D.

get a panzer, no one will want to mess you from that point on. spring extra for the cd player.

edit: I do not even remember posting this.

If I can find a Fiat Panda I'll get it, James May seems to like them quite a lot

She can drive, seems to take 4/5 seconds to find a biting point before the car moves at junctions. I can confirm she didn't mean it as she's paying for the repairs but I'm a bit miffed. As a result it's broken the brackets on the exhaust at the back too...so another thing on the list :( Tis a good car though, very nippy and good on the petrol too. I suppose you guys think I'm mad to let her drive it.

*grabs the tissues*

Personally ive never been in an accident. Yeah ive had my share of close calls followed by the odd finger and hooting from others, but who doesnt eh?

Worst ive had so far was when i knocked my left front tire out of allignment by hitting a curb at about 30 in a rural town, because i dropped my iPod and was reaching for it...
Big deal eh? Well, wheel wobble is a BIG DEAL. And i had it for about 1 week after i hit that curb. Then, at 90 on the way to a paintball tournament at about 7:30am, the steering wheel shook violently and i felt the car dip left and forward, and almost died when i saw my hubcap roll into the rear view mirror. I knew straight away i had a blowout, and its the single worst thing that can happen to a driver that doesnt actually hit something.

The whole car flew left and i slammed the brakes, almost taking out some old woman, then ditched the car in the grass next to the barrier and stopped, doing the whole both hands on the steering wheel, holding tight even though id stopped aha. Clamed myself down, found the tyre kit under the ***king bonnet after 20 mins...didnt even know it was in there, changed my tire and proceeded to wince everytime i felt a shudder until i got the tires alligned and a new set put on.

Its actually ***ked me up when i drive now. Everytime i feel the bumps in the road or a long, grinding and shuddering sound i slow down and pray haha.

You do know that hitting the brakes is absolutely the worst thing you can do during a blowout? ;)

I've got a poor track record with Fiat Puntos.

Some of you may remember the attached image from last July. The other great point about a Fiat is they're generally rated as NCAP Safety Rating 5 stars which is the safest you can be.

You've got to admit, that in a lot of cars, the smash you can see below, me and my partner might not have been so lucky!

We were completely uninjured apart from a few bruises!

There's something about Fiats ... they seem to pull out on me all the time, or do other stupid things.

I hope the price got a 5-star rating too. It looks like the Fiat in that photo has had its last bang.

Only realised that AFTER the blowout, ie didnt know anything about it before because blowouts are considered rarer than, say, a flat tire causing the rim to grind on the ground.

This was a, ironically, full blown tire blowout. There was a hug crack running from the edge of the tire right to where the rim line meets the tire, with wire sticking out from the tire internals and everything.

Oh, Bat Girl.

How come this is the first time in a long while that ive remembered seeing Chris_D post? Have you been away?

I've been in a very minor accident. I was in line for a stop sign and I let off the brake slightly thinking I had a bit of room in front of me and I tapped the car in front of me. No damage was done thankfully.

Wow, I just got in an accident as well. For some reason I didn't see a semi. And the only mechanical damage I had was that the radiator was destroyed, other than that it was all cosmetic.

lol, take a pic from the back. I bet nobody would even notice.

You should do that and then sell it on ebay, with only "some cosmetic damage" and "radiator needs repairs" in the description.

lol, I'm getting it fixed! :)

Should be done by the beginning of July...
