Here are M35 HE/Fragmentation grenades. They will be used in my MOD:

well... the grenades are made up of primative shapes and i don';t think u have even done any mesh handeling at all. Looks very wrong and u need to think about the way u actual model. Look into some tutorials about polgon modelling and using complex geometry.
 
for once i agree with IchI the 1 u were modelling in the other tread was ok but i think this 1 needs alot of work and the texture map on the metal is crap.

Personally I dont care how the grenade look, although I can say that there is some pointless stuff there. For example, that sprint (or whatever you call it) will not be visible on the screen. Its simply to small, you cant see it at standard resolution. The jagged metal thingies in the side/bottom are also pointless, as you cant see them.
I cant even find any reference to a "M35" fragmentation grenade on the net, so I dont know how the real thing looks either. Unless you made the name and grenade up of course :)
 
I made it up, dawdler. Also, I can't find ANY good tutorials on 3DS Max. They all asume I have some knowledge. And if you want to point out any tutorials don't point out the thread above this, please.
 
Hmm I think the last time I used 3Ds Max, I quit using it because I didn't bother finding a tut (with 56k modem back then) on merging objects...
Gotta try modelling again when HL2 SDK comes out with the free XSI (or was it XSI?).
 
yes it is XSI but it not confirmed that the SDK with come with it :p
 
I have been a user for a year there but the videos never work. I download and save, then I click on the file and nothing happens. I am all 'WTF?!?!11!1' Can some one help me, please?
 
Either that or try and update you Windows media player.

besides, there are PLENTY of good tutorials out there...especially for 3Ds...if only you wanna do an effort finding them :)

same here, U must be pritty dam terrible on a computer to not know how to run the videos? how long have u been using a computer for? also how long u been modelling? Also u said u couldn't find any tutorials for new and very basic schemes (no comment).

If u ever wants to get anywhere in 3d graphics u will have to at least know how to open a video file.
 
Modelling 6 days, had a computer for 10 years. But, instead flaming me, how about helping me? That would be really smart. P.S. I am only 13 I am still starting out.

Thanks guys! In high school I really want to start taking 3D Modelling classes. I want to be a good modeller.
 
the model is pretty basic, but its pretty good for the amount of time you have been modeling. I wish I could have made something like that after a week of practice T.T
 
come on people, dont you think that the guys who spend ages and ages on their product, might ship a tutorial or two with it. you say earlier that you cant find any tutorials, that teach you the basics, or that they all expect you to have some knowledge...ffs theres loads in the actual program !! look across the top, somewhere in help. they will teach you the basics.
 
I have the trial at the moment. Doesn't come with tutorials mate.

urrrrr. if anything the trial will definatly have tutorials or at least links to tutorials because its there for very new people who are looking into buying t5he program. If u don't have any tutorials how would the company expect people to actually trial the program.
 
No links or any tutorials. I just found a snazzy tutorial. I am looking foward to using it.

IchI is an ass hole, who's only life is flameing. He should go and worrie about his own work. Age is a factor you idiot. Are you the dumbest kid alive? If someone was 25, and modeled a great BMW, that would be so different from a 13 year old kid modeling the same thing.

My question to all : How stupid are these flamers? (especialy IchI)
A) Kinda dumb-doesn't always know what they're talking about
B) Pretty dang stupid-Brings personal life into the deal
C) Retarded- Doesn't know the first thing about quality, and has a problem getting a date
D) Best subject in mods is "flaming" . Modeled a gun once (which was rejected by every mod), and thought his mom was his sister..... she was the only one to join his mod team.

I'd like to see what happens... maybe someone will make a new thread about this (use my choices if you do, and feel free to add any others)

Doesn't look like much of a grenade...

If you decide to make a new one (which I recommend you do since the mod is going for "realism") maybe make one that is based on a real grenade and not some objects put together.

Also, grenade pins aren't that thin...

I hope my criticism is worth value in improving your work and is in no way to flame or insult you or your work.
 
Yeah this grenade wasn't really looking for realism. But, I don't think making a new grenade can be done since 3Ds Max is giving me major troubles.

age is not a factor u ****ing tard. No matter how old you are you iver have skill or not. I supose you can class age as giving somone a bit of slack mainly because the younger you are the more offen it is that you have spent less time with something. But you are obviasly to stupid to know that you learn at a faster rate when you are younger than older. If 2 people had no knolage about 1 subject and had the same grasp on realistic and you taught them both the same thing and one was 10 and the other was 20 the 10 year old would learn faster. When you become 2 years old you have learnt more in terms of everything than you will ever learn in your whole life. So stop ****ing calling me sad and not getting a date and all this bull shit, because it has no relivance to me been a little bit harsh on my comments. Its simple. The grenades are made out of primative objects. The person who modelled them obviasly needs to learn a bit more about modelling and more of how you model. The models in my opiion are obviasly from a new person and I can respect it if its there first model and they have not much experiance. But that don't mean I am going to say that they are good. Nor am I going to say they are good because of his age.

I don't hate u rayman, I hate snow though. Bu8t we won't get into that since its betwee me and him. You seem alright and I will admit yes I am a bit harsh on people when it comes to critasism, but I just speak my mind.
