GTA IV New Trailer - "Good Lord, What Are You Doing?

The ending didn't seem like a closed ending. There were too many loose ends not addressed.

I cannot for the life of me recall GTA3's ending. Obviously Tommy ends up being the man, but I can't remember how it ended. It was so long ago. I remember GTA's was sort of Scarface inspired. Hm.. Can't remember it at all.

GTA 3's ending was pretty much

Main guy kills bitch --> The end.
Also, wikipedia seems to think his name is "Claude", though I never saw it directly referenced when I was playing.

One thing I did notice, though, was that a couple of people say "see you in Miami", and there's some billboards telling you to visit there and stuff. Kind of cool considering Vice City is so closely based on Miami.

Edit - Damnit, just got another touch of nostalgia from looking over the wiki pages. Downloading GTA 2. :p

Good ol' Rockstar making em free for download - http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/

No, Vercetti isn't Claude.

Yes, Claude appears in GTA:SA, and to make the connection even more obvious, he ends up with Catalina. And is mute.

Catalina? Bitch didn't die? :|
Edit - Ah, makes sense. Just like this post. :O

Annoying tune, but good Video. I saw an analysis piece here:-

http://www.gamevideos.com/

which highlights quite a few interesting things (including the flashes before your eyes bit towards the end, which features quite a lot of screenshots). Game is shaping up to be something special, however like a few I'll be holding out for the PC release. I don't think it will be a year before we see that either, I'd expect Take 2 will aim for a Christmas release because they know people will be hot for it. One only has top look at the precedents set by both Mass Effect and Assassins Creed to know that publishers/developers are increasingly keen to get to the PC market sooner rather than later these days.

GTA 1,2,3,4, = Saints Row

Go witha Flo Buy Saints Row!!!! hehehe

Everytime I read one of Alan00000s posts I remember why I have no faith in humanity.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but there's a MASSIVE interview on IGN (11 pages) about the game world, story, characters etc.

There will be another one on Monday talking about the gameplay changes.

Good stuff. I definitely like what they've done with the main character. Also, i read about the story and the research they made, that these days everyone's a rat. And well, being loosely acquainted with a few ppl involved in that sort of business, it looks accurate to me.

What HUD?

And that's exactly how I like it.

less is more. i like just having the map in one corner and nothing else, you dont need crap cluttering up the screen getting in the way of the scenery.

it makes everything seem more cinematic if theres almost nothing on screen but the character and environment

Right, the 360 will get its own exclusive DLC. The PS3 will also get its own as well. Either way nice to see support for home.

"You know, the issue in the mob these days is that everyone's a rat. No one wants to do the hard time anymore, even if they [ever] did... The real scary characters are not born in America anymore, because life's too comfortable."

Awsome :thumbs::thumbs:

Good article. It has me pretty hyped for the game. Hopefully when it PC we'll get all the 'exclusive' content for both Consoles :)

The Getaway did that very well.
The Getaway was a really good game but the first 2 or 3 levels are terrible. I nearly stopped playing. I'm glad I kept at it though.

Really? Shit. I remember renting it a long time ago when it came out. I played the first couple levels, hated it, swapped it for Devil May Cry and never looked back.

It was a decent read. I was expecting more information about gameplay changes but it was kind of a broad talk about their development strategies and aims.

It's nice to know the DLC for the game sounds like will probably be worth getting and not just tacked on like many other games. It sounds like they're going to put a lot of work into it.

That was a great read!

I'm a bit disheartened that multiplayer coop will not include the full singleplayer experience, but that's okay. I can cope with that.

I have never been so excited about a game. Shit, I don't think I've ever been so excited about anything.

I'm prepared to blow about 500 dollars on a 360, the game itself, and possibly a VGA adapter so that I can use my extra computer monitor to play in HD.

BTW: Does anyone have experience/recommend using an LCD monitor with a 360?

I use an LCD for my 360 and it's fantastic. However, you may want to use it at eye-level, give or take, because with my monitor, if I'm looking up at the monitior on it's perch above my desk storage thingy then the screen is quite dark. Not impossibly dark, and no where near unplayable-dark, but a little more shadowed then what you'd ever see on a TV. At eye-level it's fine, though - great even - and I often stand up to play so it works fine for me.

It's a cheap way of playing in fantastic high-def/resolution quality. It's win-win all the way.

I have the VGA cable for my 360/monitor setup too and it's fantastic.

There are so many games where it's damn near impossible to read text or see distant enemies and throwing them on my monitor makes it infinitely better.

It's crazy going from playing COD4 on my SDTV and doing horribly to my monitor where I can consistently go at least 2:1.

Also, the VGA cable allows me to bring my 360 into work with me on our slow days :)

Man, this game has so much hype that I really want it now.

What I love most, is that when I'm standing up at the proper eye level of vision, everything is really crisp and sharp, which means it's real easy to spot the tiny speck of a sniper hidden in some grass from all the way across the map. You can really tell in game from the players who are playing on crappy TV's or in a certain level of darkness from the players who can always aware of every movement and every tiny detail. The former are usually the type to run past enemies, or move into the open oblivious to a sniper watching their area.

I've been using VGA + Monitor aswell. Far far better than the regular telly, even if it is smaller. Upgrading to a nice 22/24" soon.

Looks cool, more shiny and gruesome.

And for some reason I can see the media totally doing a Jack Thompson on this when it gets released.
