GTA IV Trailer coming March 29!!!

Statue of Liberty + Chrysler Building = NY.
"Liberty City" on boat = LC

Conclusion: who cares.
 
It's GTA... dosnt look like anything new or anything to get particuly excited but people like gta and will get excited with this latest installment. They have a very big fan base so they cant loose.

I can't friggin wait!! I just don't know which system I will have come October so I can't pre-order anything yet!!!

Its a cool twist that they might be doing a little bit with the US-Jihadist war. I am very interested to see what the story is and how detailed the city is...will CBGBs be there??? Hopefully a little fun for the bridge and tunnel crew too going to Jersey for hits and such. Good times....
 
Why?

It looks amazing BUT why re-visit the city in GTA3? That seems rather low although GTA3 was my favourite map.

The bit you want is about 3 mins in, its not the exact music , but Im not spending hours finding the exact scene that its from (you will see what I mean).
Looks like Rockstar are going all "serious" with IV, could be good, six months and we will know.

Glad we got the Mafia back :D Loved the Sentinels in GTA3, Hope we got something similar in this :D

GTA3 was also my favourite map. Glad to be back in LC.
 
Yeah I can't wait. You just cannot beat the Russian Mafia, then there is the Yakuzas and Colombians. PROPER gang warfare, not like San Andreas baggy trousers and teen street mobs, urgh.

How could anyone be disappointed? The game looks great and we get to be a Russian? What more could you want?

I hated saints row as soon as I drove a car in the game. Felt like total crap...
 
meh fancier graphics dont impress ..not liking the russian mob thingy ..gta works better when mixed with sardonic humor, this looks more serious than the past games ..but I wont pass judgement till I see a lot more

Did you see the billboard ads? It seems to me that they will have the same sense of humor that all the previous GTA games had. I would go through the trailer and pause it on some of the scenes that show billboards. Some of them are fecking hilarious.
 
Graphics are ace, setting is LC (my fav)..... You play a f***ing russian mobster!!.... err is that good?

Finally I think someone got the right balance between Mafia and GTA.... I hope.

Not crazy abt the character model though... I would have preferred someone more..... charismatic, like Vladiemer Lem from Max Payne.

I reckon the character model from the trailer will be the "before" version.
Kind of an extension of the customisation options -hair, clothes, weight and tatoos- from san andreas.
 
Overall, I have high hopes for IV. I like the storyline about an immigrant coming to the US. It provides a reason for not knowing people, not knowing the area and such. It's something remotely different and is a hell of a lot better than amnesia or "gangster got thrown down to the bottom of the pole and has to work his way up again." The graphics, for a GTA-type game, look good considering that none of the GTAs never really looked that spectacular. I see the humor is still around which is a good thing. There's nothing like speeding away from cops when you see a billboard for a movie that's "Rated R for Retarded" or some quip about some type of genitalia.

Also definately New york city. They probably wont call it that, but the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building? Yeah definately NYC
 
I imagine its the entire New York state (or a state much like New York) and Liberty City is in this fictional state (or New York state).

I also like the seriousness along with. The GTA games have been getting progressively better with storylines and characters and this might just top the cake.

You think a good hair cut, a shave and some muscle would fix the guy? I hope R* still kept all those features....

Cars doesn't seem to have any complex reflections so far, and the city seems less ....seedy from the days of GTA3.

Been at the GTA Forums and there seems to be a LOT of disappointed ppl out there. Surprising!! People don't seem to dig playing an immigrant...

Here's hoping for a PC version!!!

EDIT: Gotta lol at Americas Next Top Hooker billboard. That might not be too far off actually...considering the state of reality tv these days.
 
at :29 seconds you see part of times square, and on the left side you see a sign that says "Welcome To Liberty City" and next to it "I Love Liberty City" but with a heart icon instead.

You also see the "Liberty Tree" News feed.

Little early to presume but man that would be the shat!!! Being able to bounce between the cities but all in the same time frame, wow!
