GTA IV Trailer coming March 29!!!

honestly the trailer give me some hope

I was anticipating some hip hop/fast and the furios stuff all over again

what? is that serious?

Ya man, some people think that the guy is not Russian but more middle eastern, like ...Arabic. And with a almost Licensed NY with tall buildings and planes.... well... racism galores..

Some others say that NY has been done to absolute death in games ( which is a valid point imo) and blasting R* for that reason.

But really the game looks great! Great new Russian perspective... awesome graphics and atmosphere... only thing is we wont get any wise cracks from this main character, unlike Tommy and CJ.

some people are so dumb
EDIT:anyway I remenber the same happened whit SA whit the characther being black

one thing I noticed is that the voice sounded very well considering I suck at hearing voices in english

That to me, did not sound Russian at all. But more of a Arabic or Middle-Eastern sound to it. He has a dark complexion.

it wouldnt surprise me if the character end up arabian

He is definitely NOT arabic. I admit that he has a darker complexion than a normal Russian man... but the accent is definitely Russian. Listen carefully to how he says "smuggle" and "different". Maybe he is eastern European...like Kazak? Or Ukranian??

Haven't watched the trailer yet, but all the talk of mid-eastern characters has me wondering if we'll see a Kumar-esque character alongside the main character, which would be completely hilarious and awesome \o/

Watching the trailer now.

GTA is no longer fun for me. More of the same shooting and stealing cars. Meh. Environments are cool, true, but quite frankly i cant be bothered to play another one of these again. I've had enough of it.

It's not cel-shaded, which I was led to believe for some reason - this is kind of a disappointment to me :(

However, the game looks like it'll be cool. I'll wait on a proper trailer though.

While I agree, you can't say that about this GTA yet...all you've been given is a tiny trailer.
Things might be different!

Aww, I was hoping we'd be shown some of its usage of the Euphoria engine!:'(*Dissappointed*

I must say that trailer was very unimpressive.

I have no reason to believe it will be anything different than any of the games based on the gta 3 engine, with better graphics.

wow,what let down.
give us a proper trailer next time.

Not a big payoff for a long wait time, but - woot woot, GTA4. Imma gonna get a job now... -____-

That teaser/trailer was freaking pathetic. I downloaded it on Live and watch it on my HD TV and the graphics look like an Xbox1 game, they need to release a better quality one.

Oh, and LOL at so many people being so excited about this, suckers.

Oh come on! What were you people expecting? A full blown video preview with developer commentary!?

What I expected was a trailer showing the location, the graphics, the protagonist and some great action. Well the trailer showed 3 out of the 4 criteria..... I would have loved to seen some good ole' action but as an introductory, mood establishing trailer.... this is pretty damn good!

The graphics are great, specially the lighting, shadowing and texturing.. some work needs to be done on the models and car reflections... but other than that the graphics exceeded my expectations.

Story is about a Russian/Eastern European gangster/smuggler trying to give up his old ways and start a new life in Liberty city. Very interesting indeed!

All in all the trailer is ace.

I was expecting something somewhat interesting, not some pathetic melodramatic "LOL LIFE HERE HARD ?!?!" with disappointing graphics, etc.

I, and many others, think the trailer was pathetic, get over it and stop trying to put words in our mouths.

Yeah, though some things from the AW techdemo probably won't be in the game sadly.

Your TV must suck if you think those are bad graphics.

I thought it was pretty neat. I can't say I was expecting anything different.

Oh ffs. What do you think the gameplay is gonna be like? It's a GTA game ffs.

I was expecting something different when they used the tagline: "Things will be different". Quite misleading. Improved graphics? No shit.

GTA has never been about the graphics--they have always been better than average but never jaw-dropping by any means. Its the gameplay that has kept folks coming back and with San Andreas it got a bit too tired for many longtime GTA fans so I am really hoping that when they say things will be different this time around that they really will be quite different, though I just have no idea how from that trailer...

Its a good start though. The next few months will provide us with lots and lots of details so everyone just sit tight and get excited/don't get excited--whatever is your thing.

I'm sure there will be changes. Saint's Row has moved the combat along a fair way and i'm sure the next GTA will attempt to better it. I'd like to be able to take out tyres, aim for fuel tanks, shoot people through windows - all the cool movie stuff. Better ai and larger scale street battles would also be a great addition - fights starting in a building and spilling out into the streets untill we have a Heat scale shootout with the pigs!

I also hope things are more dynamic - I don't mean to keep blowing Saint's Rows trumpet, but so much of what it did is better than GTA. The way you could take over territories and make the city yours (seeing my gang filling the streets always raised a smile). You'll be on a mission and suddenly a rival gang is fighting back! By the time you return it's all out war - people firing bazooks, the streets full of cars doing drive-bys - in a zone that was peaceful a while ago. Kick as stuff - and that's before the choppers and cia arrive. Go back to GTA after this and it's rather dull.

If all we get with GTA IV is a gfx upgrade it'll be a big disappointment.

And you've seen the gameplay to see how different it is?

I mean the trailer was misleading. I was expecting R* to show off the gameplay, then have a mere 1 minute trailer showing off the environments. I don't know what they mean by "Things will be different". I was hoping the trailer would show us.

You can do all that in San Andreas and Vice City. :p

Could you shoot out fuel tanks? I know you could shoot people through windows, but it was done so, so much better in Saint's Row. I also never noticed taking out tyres to be effective in GTA.

SR took all that stuff - especially combat while driving - and improved it a great deal. Now it's GTAs turn.

you can do that all in san andreas ..except the tire thingy. You could target the gas cap on cars but with the frustrating controls it was difficult to hit especially while moving. I agree the world needs to be far more interactive. Other developers have upped the sandbox genre a notch or two, Rockstar needs to restablish themselves as the king of the genre. A graphics update isnt enough

I thought they were just referring to what the main character said in the trailer.
"Perhaps here, things will be different."

Zomg, he's a friggin' Stalker! :O

Hate to double post, but heres some interesting info. 5 seconds into the trailer, do you guys see that tiny tiny sign. It says "Visit Vice City - $300" - a hint that Vice City is back. Ohhhh yeahhhhh!

I love to see Vice City in next gen glory.

Also, you can see a chainsaw 47 seconds into the trailer. Look carefully.

Jesus Christ, put your dummy back in your mouth! I have no idea what you're getting all pissy about, you sound like a spoilt child who's mommy bought him the wrong G.I. Joe. It's a one-minute teaser for god's sake, it isn't due out for another 8 months, they're probably working hard to get the gameplay features in.

As for people complaining about graphics: Well, the hypocrisy just astounds me. First of all the graphics are pretty good for a game of it's nature, secondly it's these same people who bang on about "gameplay > graphics". No one wants a crap looking game that detracts from the experience but as long as the graphics are good enough then so-be-it.
