It shouldn't make a difference between Gmod 8 and 9. And even if it's the case, I'd still recommend getting the css/gmod pack. CSS is worth it, even if it's far inferior to TF2.

Kid you dont put Gmod in a Gmod folder
go to this location
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\Sourcemods

Then drag and drop the mod into the SourceMod file and restart steam
PRESTO

I got doom 3 for my pc but every time I try to install it
it gos to the picture things after some time it asks for disk 2
I insert and nothing happenes
