Half Life 1 Source B4 Half Life 2?????

Who has the balls to NOT play HL2 on release until they play through HL1 Source,

come on who's with me???

on a same but different note.
what if Half-Life never existed and Half-Life source came out right now (assuming that it had updated graphics as well as the source engine).

What would become of half life 2 and how do you think it would look like.

It doesn't take balls to not play a game. It takes a little self control. Personally, I've play through HL more times than I care to remember, so I couldn't care less about HL:S.

stop with the stupid questions. There is no way any of us have enough will or patience not to play hl2 while it is sitting staring us in the face. So end all the comparisons or scenarios right now, I dont want to see threads like hl2 or (work, school, family, or even sex)...those things can wait, on release date it is HL2 and nothing else.

You've been a member of this forum for a week, and you're trying to tell us how to run it now?

Personally I think this is a good thread, I'm interested in what people have to say. All of you newbies can stop telling us how to run the forum an shove it.

It would stilll rock because of it's great story, although they would have to tweak the AI a bit me thinks.
 
i honestly thought this forum was about anything hl2 related? and since we are all trying to pass the time and some people are giving input on this thread i dont see whats wrong with it.

Anyways, i have zero self control so i'm gonna have to say no.

sorry if anyone felt offended. I was trying to get my own impatience across, but I can see how I went a little overboard. Blame Gabe, it is his fault:)

Actually now that I think about it. Playing HL1 is not a bad idea before hl2. But I can't wait for HL: source so I will just blow through the original + opposing force + blue shift. :thumbs:

Guess I know what I am doing this weekend.
 
I probably would have done this if HL1 was heavily upgraded, but since Source is the future, i'll likely jump right in to HL2.
 
Thats always been my plan, to play through HL1 Source first....
I won't even start that till Christmas
 
Would be cool if Valve released HL:S on the 12th of 13th, to give us a chance to play it.
 
Half-Life 2, then Half-Life: Source, then Half-Life 2 again is how I shall play.

I've also played Half-Life way too many time now, I couldn't do it.

And I like this thread too, one of the only good ones I've seen on here these past few days.
 
i might play it for a few minutes just to see how different it is. if it isn;t any different im going on to half life 2.
 
If they released HL:S early, of course I would.... I've only watched people beat HL... I didn't find it too fun at times so I just stopped =\

Yea, I just bought Silver for DoD:S.... WWII ragdoll effects, delicious....
 
I would find much delight in re-living Half-Life using the Source engine, before moving up to Half-Life 2. It's not THAT big of a deal though, since I have beat the original numerous times.
 
Definately going to play HL:S all the way through before. It's been awhile, and I think it'll make HL2 all that more impressive. I've waited long enough for HL2, I can wait a while longer and play the story all the way through.

I love you man, i want you to have my babies lol. Your responses to some of these assholes are simply beautiful, and I thank you for getting the balls to prove to them that they are stupid, and you do it in a very mature and intelligent way. so congrats! On topic, i didnt get silver because HL:s is hl1 with water that looks crappy, so umm, im gonna play HL2 and see if can actually beat it, because i never beat HL1. I got stuck when I shot down two helicopters in some outside desert area and had no ammo, and then another one came, so I just quit after that. I never use cheats. MAybe the fact that I was 12 had something to do with me not beating it but im not sure.

Who cares how many posts a person has or how long they've been here? For f*ck's sake, is it really that difficult to occur to people that intelligence and post-count might NOT be dependent on one another?
To be honest, yes his post was a bit silly, but no-one likes some asshole with a jumped-up ego because he passed the thousand post mark and got un-banned telling people with fewer posts to shut up like it was their place.
Following your logic I get to tell you to cram it up your arse and piss off because I have more posts than you. But then you wouldn't like that now, would you.

Well I guess if they released HL:S a little early I'd play it through again.

Not likely however. I was hoping they'd put it out Friday or something, but doesn't seem like that will happen.

you realize how long HL is right? at least on Hard. you'd have to play pretty hardcore to beat it quickly. props to you for playing through it first before HL2...i couldn't do it with HL2 staring me right in the face.

i'm going to check out HL:source just a little before I play HL2, i want to see how good of an upgrade it was

and what's teh deal with retail CE coming with crappy "sampler"...? that sucks! and form teh looks of it, there are 2 prima books. a "behind the scenes" type (raising the bar?) and then the strategy guide. is that correct?

thats kinda ironic coming from a person who's had an asshole-ish attitude previously.

anyway i am playing HL2 on release day...i will go play through HL:Source SP once i have completed number 2 :p
 
I've planned on doing this from the start. I sometimes think I'm the only one who cares about HL:S. And if that's the case, ah well. No biggie.
 
I wish they'd come out with HLS before HL2 so that I could play it through before playing HL2, but if they don't I'll play HL2 then HLS.
