Half Life 2 Demo - Honest: Media Coverage and All

This is the website to a gaming center near me, apparantly this demo software was given out to someone at netplay.

here is a quote:
"The Half-Life 2 demo that Vivendi's rep (Ryan) brought with him wowed everyone, including the NEWS14 people. Yep, we even had TV news coverage of this party! Haven't seen it myself, but I understand it was playing Saturday night, about every 30 minutes. I'll try to get the video and get it posted to our site. "

this news coverage has to be officially documented somewhere, or at vivendi.

I'm trying to find that out too, it might be on the site, this was only recently brought to my attention by a fellow gamer at work. I should go to the next lan and check it out.
 
I'm betting it was the BINK videos. Betting lots, mmhmm.
 
Don't care, I just want more HL2, more more MORE.

Please let it be real, I need a HL2 fix badly.
 
Or it could have simply been a part of the game that they finished a long time ago.

Doesnt a game go gold after the Release Candidate is approved by the distributer? And I thought Valve hasn't even shiped it to Vivendi yet...
 
Even if it's real... it's not like we're going to get our hands on the demo...

Going gold means that the release candidate has been approved by the publisher and they make a "gold" disc that is the final version of the game. Then disc manufacturing and distribution begins.
 
The worst thing Valve could do to Id studio, besides releasing HL2 before Doom 3, is offer HL2 demo before Doom 3 hits the shelves. I'd be too busy playing the demo to take a shower much less by Doom 3

Agreed.

I don't think there will be a demo seeing how CS:source beta is coming out, but I could be wrong.

A demo? Valve doesn't do pre-release demos. This doesn't make sense.
 
The guy on the website said there is and he will put it up soon.

A demo could just be a movie (like ones we've already seen)... heh... don't hit me! :eek:

The people that seemed to have seen it do NOT seem like gamers to me.
Its probably just E3 stuff...which to them would be new.
 
That has to be the ugliest color scheme for a website I've ever seen.
