Just stop right there and do not proceed any further with this topic

Half-Life 2 episodes are technically Half-Life 3, this comes directly from Valve, its confusing yes but thats the way it is. I can put ?50 on there being more after the current episodes. DO NOT even go there with Adrian Shepard, if you browse around the forums you will see countless topics about people who think it would be good to bring back Shepard and the people who dont, its been a massive argument for ages. Just dont bring it back on here, sick of seeing it!

Oh and welcome to halflife2.net

ehm, official info from SCORE (czech gaming magazine) says that Half-Life 2 episodes will make HL3 together

Half-Life 2 Episodes are Half-Life 2 Episodes
Half-Life 3 will be Half-Life 3 \o/

Half-Life 3 will be called Half-Life 3 yes, but techincally Half-Life 3 will be Half-Life 4, as they said the current episodes are Half-Life 3. Jesus where have you lot been

SCORE editors are idiots. In one interview Gabe called HL2 episodes something like HL3, but HL3 will be completly new game.

man so halflife 2 actually = halflife 3 and halflife 3=4.....you think there will be a five...or will they just leave it be. As long as its as good as the last few I guess.

As for Adrian Sheperd, he should def. be brought back...and they should make a playable lamar.

'Half-Life 2 Episodes' is the Third Half-Life Game
(You will recognise this by how they are not called 'Half-Life 3'. Sorry if your basic numeracy skills do not stretch that far).

Half-Life 3 will be Half-Life 3
(You will note this by how it has a '3' after its name. Half-Life 3 MAY or may not be in Episodic form, but if episodic it will probably be known as 'Half-Life 3 Episode X'. Assuming that Valve stick around for a fourth installment)

This guy speaks the truth. The only reason Episodes are called Half Life 3 is because they make up a full game. It's a sequel but not the third game in the series. Just like all those Final Fantasy spin-offs are part of the series and how GTA 3 + VC + SA make up GTA 3, and we get GTA 4 next year.

EDIT: kupo says it best. :E

So what you're saying is that there will be two halflife 3s? Sounds down to me...more than enough room for Adrian, Lamar, and some other cool stuff...yeah boy

I heard a tumble weed go by as the town bell began toll.

Half-Life 2 Episodes are Half-Life 3.

GTFO, amirite?

You can think that these Episode's are HL3, but it really isn't. Its completly different game. These episode's are expansion packs basically. If the Episode's are HL3, then the next full HL will be called HALF-LIFE: EXTREME!!!! or HLF.

The episodes aren't expansions in the way that Opposing Force / Blue Shirt are to HL1, they progress the story along. Think of it more as extending the story arc started in HL2, as they revolve around the events set in motion by you in HL2. HL3 or later episodes or whatever will have a new story arc.

ok then maybe they'll do a seperate hl3...but what about these episodes, how many are they gonna make before they release a new, full game. Eventually, its gonna be tough to shell out the dough for these constant small episodes without at least a playable lamar/adrian equipped with a grav gun 10x as powerful as the original

3 proper episodes then an actual expansion pack (i.e. non-essential to the story) made by an independant developer. Then there's always the possibility of the Lamarr mod Valve mentioned in roughly January 05.

Ha! You haven't even been here four months.

Can you let off the lammar? He is stranded in the desert, and is dead by now.

Even though you see him in the credits? And I seem to remember he is then Episode 2 trailer?

And you see him later in the game too. Jeez.

coolness..I never really saw lamar in terms of gender...more as an omnipresent, unisexual deity of ultimate power and awesomeness with great potential as a playable character in future episodes

im all for silly things, but lamaar as a playabe character, thats over-stepping the boundaries and going into look-the-other-way land

Well sorry that I aint a veteran poster like you, but I have seen a lot in those two months not to mention that its irelevant to what I said anyway.
