Half-Life2 delayed to November. (for sure)

Just read in a big norwegian newspaper found here that they have talked to Vivendi Universal Games and that the game is indeed delayed to sometime in November. Please delete this if it has been posted before. btw.. DAMNIT! :( :( :(
 
now it does ;).. norwegian btw.. look at the date and time in the bottom.
 
It's times like these I wish I'd learned Norwegian. Acrtually, no wait - no it's not.
Seeing as Norwegian isn't on freetranslations.com, would you please tell us what it syas? It'd awfully kind of you...
 
It basicly (forget my english ;) says that the game is delayed to middle of november and that the newspaper has gotten the information directly from Vivendi itself. Im 99% its delayed until November or even longer.
 
Vivendi allready said this to Gamespot and Gamespy and the like a while bk, but then Valve dennied it and then Vivendi retracted its comments.


basicaly i am confuzed

I don't read anything about the newspaper talked with VU...

Swedish PCgamer wrote the same shit a week ago...

Until an announcement is made that is 100% official saying that HL2 is delayed I will still assume a sept 30. release date. Its been well over a week that this has been happening and there is still no official word as to what the release date actually is, and I don't think that they would tell every HL2 fan that it is delayed by officially announcing it in ONE newspaper.
 
They did not come to the newspaper with the news, the newspaper called them, and they got it verified that it is indeed delayed. Also the article was posted today a few hours ago.

Another reason not to trust the info is due to the fact that its a European newspaper, European games groups are renowned for getting stuff wrong or getting old info.

Just look at Unreal 2. Certain magazines were talking about unreal 2's MP a year after legend stated that there was no MP.

And if you want to talk about in store dates I went shopping today and they had a release date of Sept 30th in Electronics Boutique.


Oh yeah and sept 30th is 24 hours away from november 1st.

Okay listen, i REALLY dont wanna make this a flame war. But consider this:

Gabe first said he did not know of any delay, now he has no comment about it.
Vivendi said recently (checking with the journalist WHEN they talked to Vivendi) that the game is delayed. When the publisher says its delayed it prolly is. Is Valve gonna end all the contracts and publish it themself?

I, as much as you want this game as fast as possible, but i really doubt there wont be a delay.

Remember, Valve has NEVER rejected the delay roumors.

seriously, I hope they make it Sptember 30th, but I wouldn't be to suprised if its delayed afew weeks.

Valve knows when the game will be finished... Vivendi afterwards decides when it can be published.

Why would they delay it?

The longer they delay it the longer they have to wait for their money.
