Halo 2 owns

I agree. I was a little lukewarm on the singleplayer until I played the second level on heroic difficulty. I was litterally shaking with joy and tension by the end of that level.

Hahahahahahaha "chocolate theif", HAhahahahahahahahaha **** i've never heard that one before. Hahahahahaha, Penny Arcade, you've done it again.

Halo 2 is very good but still I think is overrated

Half-Life is very good, but I still think it is overrated.

The multiplayer of halo 2 rocks, but I like chronicles of riddick's SP instead.

Co-op is so damn good - why doesn't every game boast this feature??

SP is also growing on me the more I play and ramp up the difficulty settings - levels that seemed to pretty crappy/repetitive on normal are proving to be excellent fun on heroic/legendary.

Definately the most enjoyable gaming experience of this year (so far .... ;))

your right warbie i just finsihed it on normal and now im starting on herioc and its way funner because the ai is bumpped up and everything.

I`m at the Library, I guess I`m pretty near the end?

Halo 2 is f*cking amazing.
Everything that was bad about Halo they've fixed, everything that was good about Halo they've made 10 times better and plus that they've added tons of kickass things. :D

Halo 2 is awsome. There's two things (for me) that keeps it from being my all-time favorite, both could be addressed in content downloads:

1. There's not nearly as many customizable game options as I'd like. What the hell happened to infinite grenades? What happened to giving people an attribute with the oddball? They missed only a few options mind you, but those options were very fun.

2. The glitch that prevents you to get the unlockable levels once you beat the game. Something about how you can't do the tutorials in the campaign.

Other than that, the game is pretty flawless for me. It's the most fun I've had gaming all year (or 2 or 3 years for that matter). Xbox Live is going to keep it alive for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if they had good sales of Halo 2 throughout Spring and Summer of '05. As the price of the Xbox drops, so will peoples hesitance to get one.

I don't own the game, but I have just got home from a Halo 2 system-link session, and I am very impressed with Halo 2's multiplayer, I think playing against your friends really makes for a much more enjoyable experience. I have no clue on Single-player though.

The single player is nothing special...

but the multiplayer is great great fun. I spent about four hours playing it yesterday with two friends, one of whom brought his Xbox over.

And this is coming from a true skeptic. Just ask Warbie, he thinks I hate the series.

;)

I can't understand why everyone isn't loving single player as well as MP. Damn people with differing tastes! :)

To be fair.. I only got to play the first level.. but I felt like I was playing a bonus Halo 1 level. Maybe it gets better.

If it comes out on PC, I'll let you know. I'm not going to play the SP for three hours and make my friend watch, especially since it is his Xbox! :)

it's pretty decent. not as good as everyone is raving on about, but still decent.

i haven't tried MP yet, and i don't think i will until it comes out on PC, just too much of a hassle to set XBL up as there isn't a permanent place for my xbox, and all my tellys are miles away from the nearest phone socket :|

my only two gripes so far: horrible framrates, and woefully restrictive controls!! (thumbsticks + FPS = ;( )

Philistines :)

The first level is one of the poorer ones (infact i'd say the first 1/3 of the game - bar a couple of levels - aren't all that great, but do get alot better on heroic/legendary. The rest is all good imo .. certainly streets ahead of Far Cry and Doom 3 etc. Some parts have been the best i've come across in any shooter. Period.

I've only noticed the frames drop in cutscenes and on a few occasions during play. On the whole it 'runs' smoother than CS:S (which I get 105 on in the stress test)

As for controls, that all comes down to how good you are with a pad. Bad workmen an all that ;)

Best single player shooter i've played in years (since the first Halo actually :p)

I'm glad you added that "bar a couple of levels". I love the level on Earth with the bridge and scarab and such. Solid level.

Yeh - that's a goodun :)

Capturing and holding that building the first time you land on earth is a cool one too.

SP is a somewhat rehash, TBH. Really not worth the hype.

MP all the way. It's ****in awesome!

*goes to play lockout*

Can't be a bad thing when we're debating which is more amazing - single or multiplayer :)

It's very rare that a game offers both. Golden Eye and Perfect Dark did - and so did Halo 1 & 2 (imo)

After playing a few hours of Xbox Live last night i'm not that impressed by the MP. It can be great fun but i spend more time waiting for matchmaking to find a match for me then i do playing the game.

That, and the matches aren't really anything out of the ordinary

I just finished playing for a few hours. We ended up playing teamball a lot it seemed. One game on lockout I had the ball and I got a killing spree with it :p One of the guys I beat down had the sword and he actually knew I was trying to kill him. He missed his lock-on attack because I strafed and I hit him twice before he oriented himself again :) Man that was fun (the session of games not just the one game).
