Pressure said:Yea I think she is tied down. I found this also.
"MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY nd in about half an Hour the Boat was overset by a sudden Flurry from the North. What became of my Companions in the Boat, as well as of those who escaped on the Rock, or were left in the Vessel, I cannot tell; but conclude they were all lost.
lay down on the Grass, which was very short and soft, where I slept sounder than ever I remember to have done in my Life, and, as I reckoned, above Nine Hours; for when I awakened, it was just Day-light. I attempted to rise, but was not able to stir: For as I happen'd to lye on my Back, I found my Arms and Legs were strongly fastened on each Side to the Ground; and my Hair, which was long and thick, tied down in the same Manner. I likewise felt several slender Ligatures across my Body, from my Armpits to my Thighs."
From what I see here she was on a boat and it was tossed by a "flurry." Everyone else on the boat was lost. When she awakes she is tied down.
I'm pretty sure what 343GS meant was that the Rings were constructed to essentially quarantine the Flood, and to keep them alive for study. He goes on to say he's happy to see that they've survived for reproduction. Hence the name "The Monitor"; he's there simply to monitor the Flood while the Forerunner are gone.NeonSpyder said:just so everyone knows, in Halo 343 guilty spark mentions to you (while your blowing away flood in the library) that the rings were build by the forerunners in order to save "life" in general in the universe, he also mentions that he "is happy to see that some of them survived to reproduce" so the forerunners DID survive.
just so everyone knows
It doesn't matter TOO much, but there are references to The Fall Of Reach in The Flood and First Strike. Reading them in order also gives you some good continuity in your reading, which overall will help you to piece these clues together more easily.Pressure said:I see all the Halo books for sale but what ordered do you read them in? Does it matter?
The right order is as follows:Pressure said:Well what's the right order because the names don't really help .
The Fall of Reach takes place before the game. The Flood takes place during the game. First Strike takes place after the game.Pressure said:Now do they take place on what happens after the game or during the game?
It seems to me it seems as if an AI of some sort, be it Covenant, Forerunner or Human, has managed to hijack some poor lady's bee website, so far for reasons unknown. Perhaps trying to hide from another AI, presumably the "Spider" mentioned throughout the AI's "narrative".Not a real network, after all. Copper and silicon and every now and then some FIBER? Christ, what's next? Tin cans and twine?
This I believe is written by a Forerunner AI similar to The Monitor, a.k.a. 343 Guilty Spark. It kind of makes sense... The Monitor was on Halo simply to monitor the Flood's progression as a species. Perhaps The Operator was an AI that was stationed on a different ring to maintain it's operation while the Forerunner are gone.MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY
Just remembered something important:
The Operator.
That was my nickname. That's what the rest of the crew called me when they didn't call me ... whatever my name was.
The Operator.
I wish I could remember their names.
