The best game ever....coming out november 9............the day that everyone has a sickness no person can cure..well you get the point.

Half-Life 2 is far more superior.

The greatest shooter is an honor for Half-Life in my opinion.
 
yep, mastercheif, that sickness will be all of us throwing up because of how horrible halo 2 is, then we will all go back to playing Half-life 2.
 
c'mon, guys! Halo 2 will be a great game... might not beat Half-Life 2... but it could... there are more people w/ xbox consoles than gaming PCs
 
HL2 is coming out on the xbox. I'm sure there is more xbox and PC owners then just xbox alone:)

Halo is f*cking funny to me. I like Bungie, and I like Halo's multiplayer. I remember 16 of us would sit around on system-link and blast each other way with needlers and other violent weapons of death...awesome times!

Thats not to say, our Cyber'Cafes here in NC wont have our HL2 tourneys! :D

I was about to take Gamespy's opinion seriously, then I turned the page and saw Donkey Kong Country at #9.

Its interesting this topic came up because I just bought Halo for PC 5 days ago. It was at $25 so I thought I'd pick it up and see what all the fuss is about.

First of all, the things that Halo does right:
-Interesting, Sci-Fi story
-Cool voicework and sound effects
-Excellent AI, especially the Elites
-Physics are great. Driving the warthog was the best part of the singleplayer game.
-The controls work good, I for one like the 2 gun system, makes it more of a challenge.
-Great graphics(duh)

-For the first half of the game I was having a blast, then I started to experience Halo's "deja vu" style of level design. I mean, the level design itself is good, but even the most marvelous room ever devised starts to get boring after walking through it ten ****ing times.

There are parts of the game where you literally spend 2 hours or more, at a time, running back and forth between identical looking rooms. Also, some areas rely on simply throwing wave after wave of enemies at you, until you finally kill them all and can move on. Coupled with the repetitive level design, it gets annoying very quickly.

The game was definitely worth the buy (Multiplayer is fun), but after finishing the single player game you get the feeling that Bungie's level designers just started using copy and paste halfway through the game.

I'm really looking forward to Halo 2. Sure, it won't be as great as Half Life 2, but I expect it to be a solid, fun game that'll keep me entertained. And in the end, isn't that the point of games?

And about the repetitive nature of Halo in the later parts of the game: While I'm certainly not defending that bit, Bungie was actually told by Microsoft to make the game longer, and with the limited time until the Xbox release, they had to reuse a bit of what they already had. Shame Bungie didn't have more time.

You can only carry two guns (well, three when dual wielding) because of a little thing called 'realism'. Sure, the very fact that we've got a military cyborg in the future fighting with plasma swords against an army of alien races kind've breaks realism anyway, but it adds a tactical essence of sorts to the game, which I found refreshing. Not to say I don't enjoy having a wide arsenal to choose from at times, though.

Not only does it reflect poorly upon yourself (need to either grow up, or act your age) it's also getting real annoying now.

I like both games, oh wait I can't in the world of a fan-boy, ffs, the 2 games aren't comparable, HL is for PC people and Halo is for console people.
 
I dont know what all of you are smoking,but lay off of it :LOL: :cool: .Master Chief will stomp half-life in all types.For example,better multi-player,dowleadable content etc....Ive proven enough reasons why everyone in their right minds with an xbox should get this game...I leave the rest to bungie.

The only thing that stand out in half-life to me is modding...

Oh yeah and pc fanboys STFU.We already know how poor you guys are wasting money upgrading your pitiful systems just to make a bunch of poloygons or however you spell it look better.While on xbox live you can create new maps etc....but youve wasted enough of my time
 
The best Xbox multiplayer maybe, but if you want the BEST multiplayer you should be looking here: www.everquest2.com

Half-life 2 will stomp Halo 2 in multiplayer, but they will each dominate their own system.
 
You are right on one case,as everquest is only ONE of the great multi-player games.....oh yeah half-life 2 :cheers: counter strike are also coming to xbox,anyways let me break it down into anyones i.q. level that doesnt relize that halo pwns counter strike in multi-player.Halo 2 will have bigger multi-player maps [Ive seen previews of levels in both games].Also Me and other xbox ppl willl all be sick november 9th.Even other console and pcs owners will be getting xboxes to just play halo.Also halo pc was toned down because bungie felt bad for the poorer pcs owners who had to go through labor upgrading pcs....While your playing crackpot-life,if it ever releases Ill be playing halos single player first then multi-player.And then once halo gets played out I might but half-life.

How do you know if Halo 2 has a better multiplayer if you haven't even PLAYED it ?. And by the way, Halo's "downloadable" content is pitifal compared to Half-Life'2 huge modding community. You're starting to come off as a Halo fanboy with a attitude ...

.... and this confirms my last point .Hey, you can come to a forum, and post about how good Halo 2 is, and how it's going to best Half-Life 2 in every way possible, but leave the attitude at the front door thank you very much. PC gamers have as much right as you to hype their own games, and just because you can't afford a good PC doesn't mean you automatically have the right to flame those better off than you !

You can create New Maps on PC too. It's called modding, and as well as new MP Maps, you can create Scripted Sequences, and a STORY of your own, not just new "Ultra-Cool Deathmatch" Maps for Halo. But since we've wasted enough of your "precious" time, go back to your Halo 2 boards, and discuss Halo 2 with other overhyped fanboys. Stay out of these forums unless you can change your attitude ......

Well, I'm not, and neither are many other PC gamers. Saying you are going to be sick on the day of release just shows how desperate you are to give up your life for a game.

Again, how do you know this. They have shown SOME levels, not all of them. Have you played all of Halo 2's ( And CS:S's) Multiplayer maps ? No, you haven't, so keep quiet until you have.

You know that multiplayer has been a part of PC games since Doom, right? Downloadable content has been available for years before X-Box Live was ever possible. Hmmm...somebody forgot to prove your point. I should also mention that FPS were created on the PC. Even your Halo started out as a PC game before Microsoft bought them. Bet you didn't know that. ;)

As for being a PC fanboy, don't come crying to me when interent explorer doesn't work for you. ;) By the way, have you ever tried to make a map on a console? It doesn't work. Any map you can make on the X-Box, I can make on the PC faster and making maps on the PC is much more versatile (unlike the X-Box).

I'm not saying Halo 2 will suck, I'm saying you need to learn how to develop an arguement.

Hey guys I've got an idea, why don't I go over to the Halo forums, sign up as "Gordon Freeman", and then make a topic called "Why HL2 will pwn Halo 2 (because pwn is a word that makes you sound cool)". It would probably reach 20 pages in about 15 minutes.

-I like Halo overall but fanboys irritate me, especially those who can't put a coherent argument (or sentence) together.

Thats the smartest post Ive ever heard here,but anyways I didnt say that it pwns until someone posted best game ever?huh.But go ahead and try going to a halo forum and do that,you will get your ass flamed :flame: of the boards so quick it wouldnt be funny.
