Halo 2 looks to be an excellent title, and i'm trying to put this across in my posts. But you're just talking complete shit and making it even harder :/

Accept that different people want different things from a video game. You'll find most members here rate immersion, atmosphere, graphics and an engaging story very highly (as do most pc gamers) In this respect HL2 is going to crap all over Halo 2. Physics wise alone HL2 looks amazing! Halo offers none of this.

I'm guessing you're into action titles that offer a real challenge and 'social' gaming. In these area I believe Halo 2 will clearly be a better title than HL2. (and why i'm a massive Halo fan)

It's not a question of which is better, just which is more suited to your tastes.

This is my opinion and I am entitled to it. No one has to agree or disagree. The only obligation in your reading this post is to keep an open mind on opinions. Halo on Legendary mode is the funnest single player game EVER. But as for half life, it had the best multiplayer ever. There is nothing better than plowing through a crowd of flood with a shotgun, which by the way is tied with my favorite weapon of all time in a game. The other is the m4a1 in counter strike. Which brings me to my next point; There is no comparable feeling to that when you defuse a bomb in counter strike. that is some fun shiet!
The moral of the story is that both games were an amazing achievement of ingenunity and both were revolutionary in their own way. Halo brought an amazing first person shooter experience to the console( but lets not forget 007) and Half life brought to life a craze of modding and online gameplay.
Who knows whether either games will prove to be satisfactory to your gaming hunger. for all we know, both will suck. but we must keep an open mind and look at both games objectively. Sorry to those I bamboozled, pissed off, or confused, but that is the way I work.

UT2K4 is probably the only multiplayer game I've ever played that I am ANY good at at all. I literally die within seconds of joining CS games and I get destroyed by my friends in Halo. I generally can't get a single kill in Battlefield games and people rock me at Call of Duty.

Yet for some reason I'm fantastic at UT2K4. Onslaught especially.

Not a fanboy either way and I love both games and I cant wait for both of them to come out...and you shouldnt compare the two, one is for console primaraly while the other pc, which also have different consumers and ages ....but if you have to compare I would say HL2 takes the cake with Halo 2 close behind IMO.

How do you know if Halo 2 has a better multiplayer if you haven't even PLAYED it ?. And by the way, Halo's "downloadable" content is pitifal compared to Half-Life'2 huge modding community. You're starting to come off as a Halo fanboy with a attitude ...

Halo's "PC downloadable" content is pitifal, and that factor exists because Console games dont generally port well as Personal Computer Games.

Its fun to practise on (Halo PC)! Nothing could be as refreshing to use a mouse and keyboard over a controller.

I'll have to agree--you've got quite a lot of people who like Halo, but are now afraid to enter this discussion because of your extremisms. ...wait...is that even a word?

It's called modding, and as well as new MP Maps, you can create Scripted Sequences, and a STORY of your own, not just new "Ultra-Cool Deathmatch" Maps for Halo.

I would'nt assume XBox users are that archaic. I've been able to mod Halo without an XBox modchip--and thats just replacing simple stuff!

Also, for the PC version, you can now mod or create your own storylines from within Halo thanks to Gearbox. With the Halo CE release, I've already made a number of storylines--and have even been able to run-around and play as Grunts in single, or Multiplayer.

All of the characters from within Halo have their own custom set of animations, but also include the Master Chiefs animations aswell. This was because Halo was going to be a RTS taken from both sides of the front, and was'nt really thought of as being a First-Person shooter.

My Opinion:

I really like the Halo series--I mean, like it like it. Its my Half-Life of the XBox. But you cant switch those positions either. Halo is for XBox, Half-Life is for the PC.

I would'nt switch either, but both cater to my own tastes and styles. I love what they both are, and slanders to either one of them will not debunk me.

Its like I told my friend, "its a great year to be a gamer--Doom 3, Half-Life 2, and Halo 2."

Halo was quite a fun game, even with its various flaws i still had fun. Halo 2 looks as though its going to improve on every single aspect of the original. But so does Half-Life 2. And even if you compare the E3 2003 video's of both games with each other, Half-Life 2 comes out on top by a mile in my opinion.

Why?
Halo 2 looks like it has the same gameplay of the original, except in a cooler environment and a much larger scale. The gameplay of the original was alright, but i've had way more fun fighting the marines in Half-Life then i have fighting the Elites and such in Halo.

There's just something really satisfying about taking out a squad of marines and a tank with 3 hand grenades and a bomb. And Half-Life 2 looks like its going to have just as much fighting with the Combine, as Halo 2 has fighting with the Covenant. And everything i've heard about Half-Life 2 singleplayer from people who have playtested at Valve, they've said that Half-Life 2 is THE GAME we've been waiting for.

But of course those people haven't played Halo 2. Either way, i don't care who "wins" out of these two games. I'm getting them both and i'm going to love them both.

Halo 2 and HL2 will both be great games.

Like was said before, Halo is a social game. I have NEVER had more fun playing any game than play 16 person CTF in blood glutch. I don't care what you say or compare to, there is nothing that can beat that gaming wise. LANS don't even come close. Yeah you have all the people there, but it's no where remotley near as intimate as 16 person Halo. That's pure fun.

Halo 2 looks like it'll be awsome. I've already pre-odered hte collectors edition and everything, I can't wait.


Half Life 2 will be great as well, although I'm perosnally looking more forward to the mods for it.

After the big disappointments that Far Cry, Doom 3 and Call Of Duty have been, I have to agree.

I disagree, Far Cry, and Doom 3 are in (my) eyes far from "big" disappointments. They gave what they offered, Excellent Graphics, In Far Cry's place, Great A.I (far better than Halo's "Elites"), and both had a great atmosphere. The only thing that they were both lacking was a good storyline to go along with it, and in Doom 3's place, boring gameplay.

Half-Life 2 *seems* to have a good storyline, and looks to have excellent gameplay. Halo 2 looks to have good gameplay, and a average storyline. Trying to say "Halo 2 pawns Half-Life 2" and vice versa is stupid and pointless until both games are released ......

People like "Master Chief" are sorely lacking something if they cannot look at both games and say " Hey, game x is good, and so is game z ". He ("Master Cheif") cannot seem to make this connection, and will miss out because of this, on 2 excellent games. Unfortunatly for the wider gaming audience, Fanboys (Mostly Halo ones) are the ones that show up the community in a bad light .......

were having a halo party where i work (gamestop). Were getting the game around 930 pm on the 8th and will be open until 1 am with about 4 xboxs set up all playing halo 2. We even ordered 2 huge security guards to keep the riots down. We got over 500 preorders, its crazy.

I played Halo with my friends last night for my best friends 17th.

10 People, 4 Xboxes, 2 teams, 5 vs 5.

It was the second time i had played an Xbox game with more then 4 people and more then 1 Xbox's. The first time it was awesome. The second time it wasn't as good. The maps on Halo just pale in comparison to better games such as UT 2004 and even Counter-Strike. We played for about 4 matches until we all got bored and just wandered about the place and did our own thing.

Me and two, three others there were the only one's who play PC games and shit. And we all agree'd that whilst playing with your friends on Xbox is good because their in the other room next to you, It's tons more fun organising a server of Counter-Strike or UT 2004 and playing together.

And with that being said. I never want to go to a LAN party like SHAFTED or LANtopia or something. I dunno but even if it is more fun playing PC's then consoles, i just hate the idea of having to move my PC somewhere and taking hours to set it up only to sit infront of a monitor and swearing at each other through ingame chat, instead of playing XBOX and swearing to each other across living rooms.
