Wait a minute - so is this guy saying that making maps and downloading stuff online is a revoltionary concept created by Bungie - or is he some noob who has never played even one pc FPS and doesn't know jack about terms like "Patches" or "MODs"...

No Im not a noob...I love my pc games with all my heart and plan on getting battlefield 2.....I also create some of my own mods and download some from other ppl.

lol. This speaks for itself.

Typing fast has nothing to do with spelling and grammar. I type 70 words per minute and I can convey a coherent thought and use correct spelling and grammar.

Wow...that's totally funny. Possibly the single most ironic post I've ever seen on HL2.NET. Are you trying to be hilarious or are you just really, really dumb? Seriously, read you own posts and then read posts by people like me or Blah. See a difference?

Your very right.I read your post and just relized that you can read,its just that I have a few spelling mistakes and claim I talk in a diffrerent launguage.Since I make a few spelling mistakes,and all of sudden nobody can think of anything better to say so they point out I spellt something wrong.

Halo 2 is far more realistic....you can only carry 2 guns because well, you only have two hands. I doubt Gordon could carry a rocket launcher, crowbar, assault rifle, etc...
 
I do have to chuckle at the fact that the reason that Halo sucks is because you hate it. :D

you say its realistic but seriously, A pistol takes up as much room as a sniper rifle.

If you want realism, take Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon.

Systemshock 2 has an inventory with different weapons taking up different space.

Nope, that was bollox then, and it's still bollox now.

I'm an avid pc gamer - especially into first person shooters - and keep my pc kept up-to-date. I play in leagues and tournies with my clan at a pretty decent level and go to LAN parties with my mates.

I know what pc gaming has to offer.

However, Halo gets played at my house almost daily. The single player game offers challenge (can't think of a pc shooter that can boast the same) and co-op is truly excellent (after a few hours of playing Doom 3 my brother came round to play some Halo co-op. This old console game, that we must have played through a 100 times, still offers more fun and excitement than Doom 3 - it was the same with Far Cry/CoD etc etc)

It's a good game, maybe not to everyone's taste - but what is? :)

I simply can't wait for HL2. It looks set to be the greatest single player shooter ever \o/. However, I know that i'll be playing Halo 2 co-op long after HL2 has been put to rest - and it will offer me more fun in the long run.

(I know there's sven co-op etc ....... but playing online, even with comms, can't compare to being in a room with your mates)

Whether you'll think it's good or not depends on what you want from a game, and if you can stand playing a fps with a joypad. (personally I think pads are better fro single player shooters - but that's another thread :) )

As a complete package Halo 2 looks very promising, and excellent value for money. You get a great and challenging single player experience, coupled with decent multiplayer (which can be played online if you have Live) The big bonus is obvioulsy playing co-op with a buddy (This alone is worth the price of the game and an XBox imo)

What other title offers so much out of the box? Infact first person shooters that offer good single and multiplayer are very rare (The only one that springs to mind is Golden Eye, another console shooter :) PCs seem to offer one of the other ....... and never any co-op :/)

Halo is a social game, you'll get the most out of it if you have friends who will come around and play. It aslo makes a nice change from pc gaming which is, let's face it, anything but social.

MasterChief, I think you're in the wrong forums, my friend. I don't know why you're here, but if you're not here for information on half life 2, or to talk about it, then why stay? You're just going to start a useless conversation like this one.

Xbox owners are so touchy... The reason Halo is so popular is because it was the *first* game for xbox, it was hyped ALOT and cam e out on time. (+ over half life 2 i guess) This is why Xbox owners have such an affinity to Halo, IMHO. It is a decent game, the first or second time through. Multiplayer is only fun for a little bit. Then it becomes quite repetitive.

Also, MasterChief, I wouldn't use Counter-Strike as a good multiplayer comparison, I would use Day of Defeat: Source, which will be very good.
