This thread will be used for All the community members to post there Video Tutorials. Here is how it works.

First of all each member of the community has there own section, this will be intitled with there name. If you wish to comment on a selected tutorial please refer to the persons name and then the tutorial name.

Over time this post will need to be filled up, if you wish to get your video tutorials here contact a HalfLife2.net administrator and refer to this thread. Please make sure you provide all code for your post including bold and italic code. Also please stick to strick guidelines and follow along with the structure and presentation of others, Thank you.

Beginner - Basic Brush, Entity and Texture Work
In this tutorial I will teach you the very basics of hammer. This will not be an advanced users choice and proberly be one of the first hammer video tutorials you will ever do.

In this video tutorial I will teach you the basic principles of making a door inside of hammer. It includes making triggered doors and physical doors:

Intermediate - Rope Bridge Video Tutorial
In this video tutorial I will teach you how to make a simple rope bridge, we will hang up the bridge with constraints and then add visual physical ropes to the sides. The rope bridge will then react to physics and be able to act as it would in real life:

IchI i think it would be cool if you could make a vid that shows how to make AI (if Ai works in HL2DM)

I wanna see a video on curving stuff :p I'm horrible at it! (and the ladder and water thing too, just because everyone else is asking for it)
 
Thaks for the great vids!

A terrain tutorial would be good, something showing up to create realistic looking cliffs, rock formations, beaches etc...

. tk, without the space, seems to cause some stars to pop up.. anyway..
 
Can anybody help me make a video tutorial? I tried with Hypercam 2 but when i try and save the movie as something, it doesn't work [it's stuck at 0% rendering].. bleh.
 
3D Skybox tutorial would be nice ! :)

lol , yes i do not add sound, it's take more disk space.
And my accent is a very Nordic French accent.
 
Beginner - Basic Brush, Entity and Texture Work video tutorial questions

im new to mapping for halflife 2 DM so my appoligies if this is a noob question.

Im currently following that video to teach me the basics and ive created my 512*512 block and made it 320 high and move out with my camera tool but i dont see it being textured like urs...all i see is a yellow net :(

any ideas?
 
You haven't created the brush into the world, you've just got a kind of template. Hover you cursor over one of the 2d perspective views and press Enter. The yellow box should go red in the 2d windows and should be textured in the 3d window. If it still doesn't work click on camera (in the top left of the 3d window) and make sure 3d textured is selected from the dropdown ;)

i wasn't trying to be funny about it! i just meant it'd probably be helpful if it wasn't in french cause i didn't understand anything!

and i couldn't find them to see if they were in french because of the site.
