Hammer Video Tutorials

I am really impressed by all that time you put through for making these tuturials
YOU ROCK

indeed these tutorials are very helpfull, keep up the good work.

Your tutorials are great thanks alot :) .

how would I make a ramp instead of steps, all I can seem to make is squared objects.

I'd say easiest way to do that is to use vertex manipulation.

Say you make a big square brush in your 'right' view-pane, and you want to make the ramp go up in that plane... So:

Select the newly created brush.
Select the Vertex Manip tool on your toolbar (Bottom button on the left, IIRC)
Click it until only the white dots show up on the vertexes in the 2d view-pane.
..If there are yellow ones, they're the 'edge' selection points. Click it unitl there are none.
..There are three different modes: Edge, Vertex, and Vertex & Edge.
Select (int the proper 2d-pane) the white dot that should be removed to turn the block into a triangular ramp...
...Drag the point (actually both points at that 2d position) down to the point that should be the bottom of your ramp. (It has to land exactly on it btw.
..It should ask if you want to merge the points or something... say yes.
The should merge and the brush is now a triangle shape.

....I hope that makes sense.

Edit: Also, down in the bottom right in 'brush mode' you can select the drop-down box and change to different brush shapes. I.E. rectangle, sphere, arch, etc.

I wanna see a video on curving stuff :p I'm horrible at it! (and the ladder and water thing too, just because everyone else is asking for it)

You cant be good at carving since carve itself is crap.

Is there a way to make falling leaves and moving clouds?
Could you make a video on how to do that? If you can, could you also teach us how to make a water fall?
Am I asking too many questions?

Question about the dynamic lighting tutorial

Im learning to Make maps in CSS and Ive been using your tutorials (Very helpful by the way) But when I did the dynamic lighting and ropebridge tutorials there seems to be something else needed for the ropes in source. Id greatly appreciate it if you could tell me what I needed to add.

yeah good stuff but will video made by other users by put here in this thread too?

Very nice, I used these when I was beginning mapping.. learned a lot.

everyone for ladder water and other tutorials go to the VALVE WIKI and then go to source sdk docs, there are loads of tutorials on that stuff!

I just watched these for the first time, and they are pretty amazing. I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but I was surprised at how fast everyone was asking for more. Like a pack of jackals after a kill or something. This is a hell of a thing to give away. Kids pay college tuitions to have someone that doesn't really know what the hell they're doing teach the principles of basic 3d rendering for a year before they're even allowed to touch an actual editor. But everyone's right back in with their hand up reaching for more, young champions of capitalism. I guess all I really mean is that some acknowledgment is due. (it wouldn't hurt to wiki "manners" either). Ok tangent over.

I'm sorry I snapped. ta.

unfortunately in my haste I double posted this thing. I'm much more docile now, and I totally understand wanting more from him. He seems to have the ability to make everything accessable. So, yeah. sry and I mean it.

Brilliant work, IchI, I don't know where I would have started on making maps without these. I'm a visual learner and reading tutorials is practically impossible, this helped a great deal.
