Title says it all, just wondering if the hex hack still works and if the file name is known.
 
file name Citytraps. no one found it. it wasent predownloaded wich sux. alwell some hours from now will have it no big deal :D
 
wow, read some other threads before you make posts like this. we don't even have the movie as of yet, getting ahold of that would mean hacking into the steam network.

Dont be an A$$hole, I read every thread on the first page of the general discussion forum and none of them have any info on the 4th movie.
 
sorry about that guy. people always try to flame. they think they'll be cool if they do it never works for them though
 
/me also decides he won't explain things anymore because no matter how many times he does it someone will always be there to ask again

you can kinda predict which is the next video to come out, they are bringing them out in order of the chopped up e3 video

it was predownloaded, because when i opened steam yesterday it updated half-life 2 media, downloaded a good chunk of data, and i already had kleiners lab extracted days before, which means it did predownload the new one, but obviously they encrypted (? my guess) it.
 
Can't crack it if they don't upload it early anymore, thanks to the hackers. Doesn't matter anyway.

They videos are good quality, but i'm not soo hyped to see them with no AF on at least. (I know we won't be seeing any AA for a while anyway). Not to mention we already saw these vids in a more realistic-looking vid (though lower res).

Not really, we dunno if they'll skip more sections. They already skipped the whole introductory section about the Source engine. (which I enjoyed a lot)
 
I'm just waiting for the footage we have not seen yet. ie multiplayer :)

can you point me to that quote, and explain what my steam was downloading for a good ammount of time that showed up as "half-life 2 media" in the monitor even though i had kleiners lab already?


BTW an md5sum of a backup of my cache file from after i had recieved kleiners lab, and a md5sum of my cache now that steam downloaded the new video to my drive, dont match.

yes. When I woke up this morning, I turned my pc on, and steam immediately started dling something called HL2 media also. Atleast for 20 minutes, I dont know, cuz I left.

WTF is it dling???

I think valve needs to answer some questions....
 
Right first point is: The next video is hl2-traptown.exe and won't be (pre)downloaded until tonight, probably 4pm GMT-8.

We just released the Kleiner Lab video roughly 30 seconds ago.

We'll start the preloading of the next movie sometime on Monday. If you
can
hack it out of the cache, I'll name my first child after you instead of
Gabe.

No, don't... that'd be cruel.

Call me an untrustworthy little bastard, but if I already have the Kleiner
video downloaded and Steam has already updated my platform for me to be
able to access it through the mediabrowser; considering the fact that Steam
Monitor is still downloading "Half-Life 2 Movies" does that not mean that
you perhaps just told me a small lie a second ago? :-P

It's the cache file just filling in - If there is empty space in the cache and there is content available to
download into it, it will use the extra space.

I think there is actually a bit of a bug with the way we have the movies
setup, as this really shouldn't happen. We'll have this fixed soon
 
They probably left the source demos out so they could get some dialog for it. Maybe recording some new audio or putting some subtitles in. The source parts dont make as much sense without Gabe chattin in the background.
 
Yeah that's what I thought... It wouldn't surprise me if they're putting together something a little like the Crytek engine demo, but obviously better quality.
 
I have a feeling that traptown will be much longer than the other vids.

Is my feeling correct or does somebody already know...?
 
Gorgon, why would it be released at 5pm GMT?
 
Every feed is here in Belgium released @ 1AM.. So actually, theoretically a day too late :)
