No. You guys are idiots, like rabid football fans rooting for their teams, hooligans even. Old people would say: "it's nice to see kids so interested in politics" but you guys don't give a **** what the other party has to say, it's all "you faggit liberal jew" and "you white trash redneck"... It's like school kids arguing which superhero is the strongest or the smartest. And it's not just you guys, television, the media in general.

Very few people, if any, come to the politics forum to seek enlightenment. They come to put forth their opinion, and thats it. Thats not necessarily wrong, but it means not many people will change their minds about things.

ummm what do you think politics are? ideology goes hand in hand with passion ...did you expect this forum to be about kind natured discussions on the merits of Voltaires take on philosophy? or perhaps genteel discussions on the condition of man? Politics are as old as prostitution. it's essential to society, whether you want to partake it or not. Of course tempers are going to flare when discussing politics, it's the nature of the beast

I come to the political forum to occasionally post my opinions on topics, but recently feel the need to back my opinions with hard facts rather than just give a plain simple point of view.
Over the recent couple of months this forum has degenerated into a personal, bitter, battle ground between certain individuals. Just tonight I have seen a posting when one member wished another member a screaming painful death.
There is too much of the “show me”, “prove it”, “source?” attitude.
All be it that this forum is here to debate political issues, I find it nauseating when people rather than acting in a civil manner feel the need to play the one upmanship card and resort to petty insults.
Is it too much to ask that whether you agree or disagree with my opinion, you can’t remain civil? And just allow other members the same right you expect… the simple right to voice their opinion.

But it's pretty much the same when you look at real government politics. Only they have learnt a special political language to insult each other without using the four-letter words...

People should respect other people's political stance, within reason. Trying to persuade them to look at their view in a civil manner, not trying to score E-penis points.

really? what? their re-education program at the "factory" no longer takes effect? just dress them up in tye dye and sandals and have them infiltrate the democrats. I will say again that I think people should try to find the similarities as opposed to the differences in each other more often,here and in the world at large

find the common ground and build from there..maybe someday it will happen,right?

The politics forum was something I was originally in favor of, big time. Looking back on it...I think I was wrong, big time. It just brings out the worst in people. Some of the participants are genuine flamers, but the majority is actually composed of really nice people when they're outside of the political realm, and it's a shame everyone is too busy screaming to see that.

As far as my viewpoint goes, it hasn't changed a bit. I have however learned that extremists on either side of the fence are people to stay far, far away from. Luckily that applies to a very small number of the people here
