There have been gay people as long as there have been people. Many warriors of the ancient world, Spartans, for example, have had gay relations, most of the time with their tutors. I think it was christianity that came up with the whole "gay sex is unnatural" business, because they wanted to break with Roman polymorphism. They also said bathing and sex rites were unnatural as well, damn christians.
