Hdr wont use up much fps from what ive heard, Lost coast is only hardcore because of the Polies per map and high res textures, Everything mapped in some sort of way (mostly bump), etc.

if it's just "polies" then turn down the model detail. but w/e fps will get big impact.

HDR won't kill fps, but it will hinder it. And Bloom is not HDR so stop thinking because Gary's Mod werks gewd, you'l also be able to use HDR.

Have any of you seen the Farcry 1.3 benchies? HDR turned off=100 fps. HDR turned on=50.

Put that into perspective of how Lost Coast will be killing your pc as it is, and I think it's safe to say that we aren't quite ready for HDR.

That's okay, the lost coast isn't quite ready for release...

People are buying 7800's in droves, they should be able to cope, even if you/I can't.

Don't see why they shouldn't put it in. After all wolf 3d, good and all I feel HL2 has come on a significant way.
