I find this odd, my new 3200 seems to almost outrun my Volcano 11 modded heatsink. It's rated up to 3400+ and it ran great on my 2600, but now with my new 3200 Barton the temps are rocketing clear up to 50C and idleing at 43C. It does seem to have somewhat of a larger surface area on the die so I think that is why my ABSII temp stays below 58C. Is any of this normal? I have noticed a few instabilities in some games, however instead of hosing they just crash out to the desktop.
I was looking into the AeroCool Deep Impact but it seriously looks like a socket breaker weighing in near 500grams.
If I do change Heatsinks (unlikely) I will need something that fits my current mod.
Also, which way does Thermal Throttling work? If I turn it to 25% does that mean it slows my CPU down BY 25% or that it slows it down TO 25%?
EDIT:
OK, got some new tests in according to these people

They tested an older XP2000+ on the Volcano 11, it rated in at 40C idle and 49C load. So mine must be doing great with that mod to match the temps of a lower CPU?
