uhh.. yeah, all free web hosts are usually crappy, the only good one I've ever really come across is www.web1000.com , although it's free, it has no site builder.

Learn HTML and make your site through notepad/dreamweaver/frontpage/something, although I prefer from scratch notepad creation, the 2 big site creation programs are far far better than any geocities editor.

Yeah, I recommend reading some HTML tutorials, then finding a free host with FTP access and do it yourself!
