Just got back from this. The theater was absolutely packed wall to wall. One of the best action movies I've seen in a long time. Visually its f*cking fantastic and the action is really cool as well. Kinda predictable plot, but well written nontheless. The part when Jet Li is on the roof blocking hundreds of thousand of arrows with his sword is just plain some of the coolest cinematic stuff I've seen in a long time.

GO SEE IT NOW YOU FOOLS!
 
oh man i want to see this movie, so it gets a positive review then eh? I'll definately watch it next weekend :)

I saw it in the US. It was a huge hit in China or Japan. One of my friends got it for her birthday and we watched it
 
im seeing it on Monday :)
it was being compared to that Crouching Tiger movie here locally..but eh.. we'll see.

I actually liked it better than Crouching Tiger. Seemed more epic somehow.

Europe seen that movie 2 years ago.
 
It doesn't look that good, I don't like movies that are so exagerated.
 
I think its silly that in USA they have the text "Quentin Tarantino Presents Hero". He just presents the movie other than that he has nothing to do with it. Well i guess that is what you have to do to get americans to watch foreign films. Its a good movie tho, been owning it on DVD for over a year now ;)

I don't think they did that with CTHD...but anyway they didn't want to release Hero because they thought people might think it was a CTHD rip off.
 
Eve since Kill Bill ol' Quentin has been letting me down, 2 good films ain't all that bad.
 
I saw it the first day it came to theaters and I thought it was really good. It was funny thought because when we (me and a friend) were buying a ticket the guy selling them said "You do know its subtitled?" and my friend said "WTF?" Then I explained to him it was in Mandirin. sp?
 
I'll be seeing this movie today. In fact, in only 20 minutes. :bounce:

Japanese version? It's a Chinese movie isn't it? Anyway, I heard that the Miramax cut of the movie was supposedly one of the best. Whatever.....it's a good movie and everyone should go a see it.
 
In the T.V. commercial, I could've sworn I seen one of the girls start to take off her clothes. She was in red but they cut to another scene.
I heard the movie is PG-13 or 14A or something. I don't think my parents would let me watch if there were nude scenes. They would let me watch extremely bloody battles.
 
indeed, a very good film. loved how they used different colours to seperate the scenes... brilliant concept.

was a bit long-winded on certain parts though. but maybe thats just this asian way of life.. keeping cool, taking time.. who knows.
 
Yeah, when I saw that movei ages ago it was amazing! I'd really like to see it again, but alas, I am to lazy to go rent it :p

Wow, that's pretty wierd. It's out here in Finland, ant it's been out for ages now. Try to see if one of your video rental places has it, it's an awesome movie. It's very mytholigal(sp?) but it's very cool, and you get, or atleast I had a warm fuzzy feeling inside me when I stepped out of the movie theatre.
 
yeah, i went out and bought a legitimate copy last week at my local chinese video store. It really is a great movie, for something 2 years old.

But definately going to go see it in the glory of the theatre. Silvercity, whoo! :thumbs:

I find it really bizzarre that it took this long for Hero to reach the states. It was out on DVD last year in Finland (Hero was originally released in 2002).
