Hey what happened to my HUD?

It's like my font for Stunstick and SLAM dissapeared. If only I knew what files I'm supposed to have and where they are.

This happens now and then. You could try to validate your files here: http://steampowered.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=282
But that might not work 100%. I have had this error my self and the only thing that fixed it for me was reinstalling the game. I tried deleting the font files also and removing them from my Windows/fonts folder as well cause I have them installed there also so I can use those fonts in Photoshop and After Effects etc., but it didn't help. If nothing else works, try deleting HL2DM and then redownload it.

If you want to try to delete the font files, search you HL2DM and maybe HL2 folders for .ttf files files, then delete them and try restarting the game.

That's really wierd. I thought all the weapon icons were in one font file not multiple ones. Maybe it's because the slam was added later.

As was the stunstick, so it explains everything.

So does validating find out files I'm missing and ones that are corrupt or something?

I'm not sure if this is what's wrong with your icons, but that happened to me, and it was because I had installed the HL2 font in the windows\fonts directory. So if you've done that, delete it from there and see if that fixes it. It could also be the old (pre stunstick and slam) font file is in the username\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\resource folder. The fonts are always in there, but you can just delete them and they will get re-extracted from the gcf.

If you install the HL2 fonts in Windows and update HL2, the game will use the Windows version of the font AFAIK.

When alba (the graphics artist of AG2) released various versions of HUD's for HL2DM, I couldn't get it to work since I had installed the game fonts in Windows. So that's probably it.

Wierd. I thought those icons where the default icons. I have had them since the day of release of the new weapons. :S
Validating your files won't do anything. I tried it, and it doesn't do anything.

Have you installed the fonts in Windows? If you have, you need to delete them from your Windows/fonts folder, then try the game, if it still doesn't show, delete the font files in you HL2DM and HL2 folders then validate and see what happens.

Thanks guys, I have it working again. Yes I put the HL2 font in the folder and that's why it was acting up. It's fine if you use the hl2mp font though.

I think it's fine if you install the fonts after the update also, but if there is another update where they change something in the font files, you need to redo the delete in Windows/fonts folder etc..
