Yay, we finally get some coverage, thank you very much! Nice review, i liked reading it, although Im not sure when you were playing, we normally have a few more servers than 2. Anyways, I digress, for anyone who missed it link through to Hidden Source. Go try it out, although Beta2 is on the way soon-ish...
 
I like it, but get the next beta out soon, it's buggy as hell right now.
 
Cool review, although I don't think you can say all the level design is amazing, since stalkyard at least was taken from HLDM, right? It's a nice update though.

There are normally at least 4/5 servers with <100 ping for me, and a few more over 100 ping.

I didn't know spectators could spray their logo, I'll try that later...
 
Okay, what the hell does FTW mean again? I ALWAYS seem to forget...

I think it's great that Halflife2.net pays attention to this mod, I downloaded it some time ago, but there weren't any decent servers yet for me. I hope, because of this attention, people will get more enthusiastic about this mod, and start playing it more.
I really hope that what I'm hoping is coming out!
Man, too many hopes.
 
its good but becomes tiresome after not so long...if you want tense, play splinter cell multiplayer
 
Sweet write-up. Made me wanna play this.
Still think the player models are a real let down, but the maps seem to make up for it.
 
Its buggy but its FUN. Man, you get freaked out sometimes. One of the few games that actually makes me jump.

Gawd its scary. :eek:

Its a lot of fun when you're the invisible guy
Its a lil bit uninteresting when you're a soldier
It'd be more fun if there was a soldier objective

Still, its the best mod i've played so far.

They do... It's called kill the Hidden.
 
Very good review, made me want to download the latest version, but alas, there's too few players...

Maybe we should organise a HL2net-get together on IRC sometime?
 
That would be good, Id be up for that, although the next release is a short while off, and that should hopefully boost our player count quite a lot. Fingers crossed there will be no major bugs in the next build, certainly no 'showstoppers'.

What, a review? The game is pretty old. And there are enough players, too. :|
 
i just downloaded it, and im about to go play. hopefully it is as fun as it sounds.
 
I played the game a while ago but quit when I realized its EXTREMELY easy to modify the shaders so the invisible player is infact visible without any reprecussions. :(
 
I can play this mod for about 3 seconds to 5 minutes before it crashes... Seems cool while it lasts.
 
The crash bug is being fixed, have to keep trying to get in, and as for modifying the shaders, CRC checks are now in place to stop that behaviour. Why cheat, is that not a tad lame?
 
Do you need DirectX9 to see the hidden "effect" properly?
 
No, a DX8 card should be able to do refraction and give you a good looking Hidden, its just the old old DX6/7 card owners that are being done over im afraid. If you have one of these cards you are not a true game enthusiast in my mind, go get a DX9 card, they are so cheap now...
 
I cant play at all. No matter what map or server it says it cannot read the memory and must terminate the application. This sucks as of now.

Yeah it will crash when joining a lot of the time. Sometimes it does it like 5 times in a row. Just keep trying and you will get in eventually.
 
Yeah the crashing is annoying, but has been fixed for Beta 2. Just keep persevering for now, you will get in. This bug has been our main problem, we are well aware that it turns players away, and that annoys us more than anyone! It will be gone by B2, so please give the mod a chance, and if not at least dont write it off completely, give b2 a go when its out.
 
Yep, I decided to wait for ext beta, since I was only a few seconds in it. It looks promising, so don't give up.

i canne play it. graphics card too old. the hidden is er.. too hidden :D
 
Well i finally got in.... amd it was cool, but i think the choosing of the hidden should be random, as it is now, the one who killed the hidden respawns as him. So if you have some good players, they will always be hidden.

Well I play pong all day and all night, I'm a game enthusiast... yet have no DX9 card!! oh noes! SUE ME! :p
