High Detail HL2 Map (leaked ATI level?)

Please note that this map is an unfinished project with only one person working one it. (About 40% complete) At the moment I am focusing on world geometry and texturing. A great deal of lighting work still needs to be done, many textures are temporary or unfinished, and I have not started creating custom models.

Presently, the moment the map only contains models from CSS or HL2, most of which are not appropriate for a pre-apocalypse map.

Quick, someone contact Gabe and let him know an ATI level was leaked into the internet! The "leaked 'ATI Level'" comment is a joke btw.

This map looks great. I hope my 6800GT can run it at modest resolutions!
 
It's being used for a machinima, so we'll probably never get to play it.

Thats the most amazing level I've ever seen. The guy making it must live in that apartment to know it so well.

one questiong this is a normal map on source but whit very high resolution textures?

I'm not actually impressed with this map. A 6800 GT should be able to run it easily.

Exavior, if you're reading this: You can make it more detailed. You should know that....More grass in the front! More GRASS!

I've seen this before, but I forgot about it. and I'm happy that I was remided, this custom map is the greatest.
 
Dude! It's the CS map. I forgot what it's called. When the t's are in the house and the ct's are outside in the street. I know it is! BTW: Looks very detailed and awesome!
 
Im most impressed by the indoor pics, and the purty pool with the turtle in it, But streets could use more stuff...

Nothing could play that map good. The guy working on it said that there was no way you would be able to seriously run around the map because of the ammount of detail put into it. And all textures were custom I think.
 
Somethings going to have to be able to play that map good because hes using it for machinima.

Ownzed couldn't be more wrong: http://www.exavior.com/apt/ front page on his site tells you what it is, although he was posting in the custom mapping forum which is maybe how you recognise it (as well explained before)

Have to say though, since the dude last posted there some new pics, and if you scroll down on the front page theres movies! :D

I did ask him about releasing the map and he didn't have any objections about it. He did worry that most people would run it a bit crappy but personaly I sometimes like to run something my x800 xt pe can't just so I can get a feal of what tomorrows games will be like :)

EDIT:: Oh yeah, the reason he didn't do amazing amount of detail on the front was due to the fact that there wasn't going to be much dialoge outside ;)
 
Framerate is irrelevant for Machinima. If you record a demo in HL2 and then ouptut it for a video, you do so at a fixed framerate - the engine can take as long as it likes to render each frame.
 
Realy? Never used the halflife2 movie maker, i just presumed fraps or something :)
 
If you do it from within HL2 (by recording a demo then using the startmovie <filename> command) then it outputs a TGA screenshot for every frame, and a single WAV file for the accompanying sound. Then you need software like Adobe Premiere to put it all together.

I think I saw the living room etnertainment system used in some screenshot at the Garry'sMod forums
 
Thats some blokes WIP map over at hl2 world I think.

A m8 linked me to the doods thread quite a while ago :O, so no, its not the ati level ;(
 
It'd be sweet to load that map up in multiplayer and just hang out and stuff. But I suppose killing each other in that map would be fun too. :D
 
If you thought it was an ATI map, you are stupid

ATI wouldnt put pictures of Strong bad and invader zim all over thier map
