Why do people like this film so much?

I really wonder how the **** this film came to be. Was there ever any demand for the mundane inanity of high school across the silver screen? Yeah, we have teenybopper films all the time, but did we really need it compounded with ****ing melody?

I dunno. I guess I just half-wish that there was a high school film that actually reflected on my reality of it to some degree: Everybody hating everybody and getting shitfaced each weekend.

It's called superbad Absinthe....

or

Dazed and Confused( which is even better imo)

It's a TV movie, so it technically didn't grace the silver screen. I honestly don't see what the hype was about. Now, it's a bit justified, pending pedobear's approval.

Never heard of it till i saw Vanessa Hudgens nude pictures.
They're lovely by the way.

Ah, my mistake.

However, Wikipedia tells me a third film is in the works and it will be coming to your local theater. :|

I feel what made it such a success for kids is the musical aspect. Disney cartoon movies is essentially a musical animation. Then somehow the producers thought what if they could make a live action one. So they got a bunch of different type of characters and put them in a high school setting. It's the themes that catch the teens attentions. While younger kids just like it for the dancing and songs. Whoever came up with the idea knows where the money is. The movie was also low budget just like all the other TV disney movies. Now its just a fad that will soon die out, but they're certainly cashing on it right now.

Disney = evil empire.
