Knowles' site is getting hammered, and they're definitely gonna be getting some angry phone calls from lawyers later tonight, the trailer wasn't supposed to be released until Friday I think.

By the way, it looks much better than I expected. I love the part where they get shoved out the airlock and the Heart of Gold catches them in the middle of the improbability jump.

damn i cant see it neither. I really want to see this one too. Oh well if its supposed to come out on friday thats only a few days to wait, im sure i'll survive :p *keeps trying all the same*

What didn't you like about it?

Say whatever you want about the casting or story changes but in my view they pretty much nailed it visually.

Firstly its a little on the cheesy side (though im willing to accept this trailer may have a bit of post work to go through yet to fix it up so its more like the finished article which is usually the case)

Some segments look good, don't get me wrong. BUT, my actual concern is they'll have fuddled around with the story to make it more appealing to western audiences, which means cliche storyline that could very likely end up having little in common with the original book because of some suit in an office thinking the original incredibly popular and classic around the world.. isn't commercially viable enough in its current form.

So yeah, hollywood got its claws in and I don't think its gonna be as good as we all hope it'll be.. But trust me, i hope I'm wrong and that its everything we're hoping for, cause I was really looking forward to it, the first trailer really got the old imagination going, but this one makes it look like just another churned out film that'll be forgotton a couple of months down the line. ;(

They're using Douglas Adams's screenplay, which he himself said was written to specifically contradict the book. The vast majority of the changes that are in the film were created by Adams, not some corporate wanker :)
 
Disney is making this movie?
I guess since that reviewer said it was good I am considerably less scared.
 
Uhm... why doesn't Ford use the towel to get onboard in this trailer?
 
The last bit from the trailer looks hilarious! I'm kinda concerned about some of the cast, since I really don't like that guy from The Office.

Haha that trailer looks awesome. Except the fact that for some reason Beeblebrox's head isn't attached onto the top of his body, like his first head. That really confused me. Anyway I don't think I'm going to like the romance with trillian and arthur. That's going to suck, and it'll really make it more disney-like. Like the bit with hitching a ride with a ring. I mean come on. I know Douglas wrote a lot of it before he passed away, but it had better not become a completely different thing.

The romance is definately a bad idea. BUT, Trillian and Arthur might have hit it off in the beginning anyway if she hadn't been whisked off into space by Zaphod when they briefly met at a party. So I dunno, maybe the romance bit will end up making sense?

hmm I don't remember for sure now, the thumb thing would make more sense though (not that things making sense matters really in HHG heh)

So long as its got the typical english pub bit :D. I laughed when I saw the TV series again and Ford handed the landlord a fiver and said keep the change, for six pints of beer or something... damn the price has gone up now lol

lol, yeah, the price has gone way up i think. Your talking around £7 for a total of 6. Or more, i havn't gotten out much latley :(

When's the release date, anybody?
