HL 2 Keeps Freezing at same spot! Please Help!

I have an HP Pavillion zx5000 with current video drivers and the game keeps freezing at the same point. Video card is ATI Mobility Radeon 9600. Right after Mr. what's hisname says "I could swear it was Gordon Freeman. Why is my laptop doing this?

you could type changelevel "______" to whatever is the next section. for example, if you are on "d2_coast_05", you could type in console "changelevel d2_coast_06"

if its freezing in the same spot every time it could be a bad installation. Try reinstalling HL2, delete the hl2 gcf's in your steam folder. The next time you restart steam it will redownload them, although you are redownloading so it might take a while. Other than that im not sure. Good Luck.
