hl2 & CS:s; Display error at startup

ok i got a new video card a Geforce 6200 Oc i upgraded from a Geforce 5200fx well my 5200fx in the past ran hl2 n cs:s fine but now since the upgrade i get a display error at startup, this happened b4 with the 5200 but i 4got how to fix it, i think i needed older drivers cause something with a bug withthe newer 1 with hl2 & cs:s, n if any 1 can give me the command to run hl2 in 800x600 b4 start up casue its tying to run it in a biger size then that n my moniter cant handle that

You should use the newest drivers, though.

check your display settings in windows first
changing hardware almost always messes it up
